BP, As mentioned many times in the past. ARA could of done such thing many moons ago when the SP was sub 0.8p or lower and didn't. I don't think any company (No matter how rich they are) want 100% liability of an asset. Someone mentioned at the AGM this very question and the response was much to words of that effect, they are happy with 75%. Also, why would ARA (Eclipse) offer $3M loans to prop up AEX if they planned for AEX to fail. And, AEX are on the LSE which is to the advantage of ARA going forward for exposure. ARA certainly don't want to sit and do nothing, they've patiently waited ~7yrs for the moments that are vast approaching.
ARA would only have to purchase another couple of % of AEX issued shares and they would be forced to make an offer (>30%).
In my opinion this risk you mention to shareholders doesn't exist. AIMHO.
