Painful day. No real reason this should be dropping. Even with the results on Thursday I do not expect anything drastically different but I fear it will follow last summers pattern and fall away rapidly. Nothing with the ITV SP makes any kind of logical sense. Just bet on the worst to follow Dame Carolyn opening her mouth. She is that greyhound that has come last in every race. Why would you place good money on her. She could be assisting her husband with the cricket fan club.

Share Price rocket? What like it did after Covid? 50p back up to £1.30? That was more than 2 years ago? Since then they have squandered the support and impetus they had and are struggling to get back over £1 despite the good profits and being one of the most recognisable companies on the FTSE.

Something stinks about ITV. As you say the business is good so it can only be the leadership?

I cannot fathom how this share will go now. Too much uncertainty. Which Dame will show up at the results next week?

The 3.5million a year, CEO of Britains biggest broadcaster and Greatest business woman. She will deliver direction, dividend payments to investors and say all the right things.

Or the tired Burberry clad CEO who says as little as possible. Has no real ideas or direction and is happy to try and peddle spin to the Markets and City of London who see straight through it.

Big gamble on Thursday on somebody who has failed to show up and deliver the goods for 5 years. Maybe just maybe this time she might pull it off. Every dog has its day. Like betting on a losing dog rather than the bookies favourite on the idea that the 100-1 might just win.

I put all my ITV money on Shell. It has been slow but finally I have 5% gain and the promise of a quarterly ex divi there before I move back to ITV.

Jed take a look at the chart for August to September 2022. We are approaching that time again when the more mature fund managers go on summer breaks with their families and the younger folk decide to play around with some of the more volatile stocks.

Nothing has changed here in 12 months. The Dame failed to land any interest in part ownership of ITV studios. We have had complete inertia from a Board paid over 10 million to do nothing.

ITV rallied in late July 2022. What happened after that was the best buying opportunity in the last 12 months. If it happens again then us small guys can hopefully also cash in

Solley I am self employed. I take ahem.... career breaks. Down time. I can afford to. 7 overseas trips since January. If nobody can come up with work that interests me then I find excitement and interest elsewhere. My Russian girlfriend asked me to meet her in Antalya a few weeks back (no direct flights to Moscow). From there I flew on to Kars in Eastern Turkey. Visited the deserted Armenian capital of Ani, then went over the mountains into Georgia and Armenia.

I am not saying do not buy. I am saying be aware that the leadership here is weak. That the share price has no real resilience to bad economic news. To buy wisely and try to predict where this is going by looking at previous dips (50s last year). With a quality CEO and good networking with Amazon and other streamers the ITV studios could be a goldmine. Right now the Dame would rather be watching cricket than meeting with US and European execs to sell them content.

That is just you Solley. Everyone else sees the fundamental flaws in ITV. The SP reflects analysts worries about the future of ITV. The Dame acknowledges that analogue tv has no real future and will be switched off. ITV need to make that transition to internet streamer. They need government legislation to protect their position as the preferred broadcaster as they provide public service content.

McCall has failed to do much in 5 years in charge. Despite acknowledging that the revenue streams will disappear in the not too distant future she has failed with Brit box, ITV hub and possibly ITVX to carve out a unique platform that appeals to British and global audiences.

Investors will be watching next weeks results. Looking at ITVX churn and how many people are signing up and how many hours are being watched. My guess right now is advertisers will be disappointed that 1 year in this is losing its shiny new appeal. No longer the "freshest new" digital platform and it is reapidly running out of quality drama and shows that it offered at launch.

Tired old ITV that is in desperate need of new management and real vision as to how to engage with audiences.

Yes but the hope in August 2022 was that inflation would still not be high a year later. That whoever took over from Boris would be fiscally sound and implement sensible policies that would put the economy right. Now we are facing high interest rates for years. Consumer spending will plunge, meaning advertising budgets will have to be cut. The outlook for ITV is far worse now than it was 12 months ago. The Dame's risky bet on ITVX has not proven to be a winner. Jury is out.

50s by September. Then Schofield report and Ofcom and Parliament forcing change on a management team who are indecisive and incompetent. Hopefully somebody appoints a true visionary rather than just another political appointee who just wants to collect unmerited bonuses for crashing the SP.

19p wiped off in less than 50 days and the global economy and UK economy and forecasts were better then.

Nothing has changed here in 12 months. The Chairman quit but we still have mostly the same cronies at the top.

Why will this not go down to 50s again in next two months? The shine has gone from ITVX. A spy among friends. Litvinenko. They have failed to follow up those quality dramas. The marketing is wearing off and people are drifting back to other media.

Buying now could see you badly burnt. Please exercise caution. Schofield enquiry will report back in October at the earliest and we may get a bounce if Dame Milquetoast goes.

You know how the city hates ITVX? Well I am just worried that anything but huge growth in next weeks results are going to see the SP pummeled. Advertising revenue I think we can assume will follow its downward trend. Studio revenue will be strong. If we get anything but growth in ITVX viewing figures then confidence is going to drain away from ITV.

It is not going to be popular amongst the diehard ITV holders but I think you can see the confidence already draining. Next week if it goes the way last year did then we might be back to the lows of August 2022.

It all looked like one massive stich up of investors. By an asset off liberty for a grossly inflated price which would have crashed the ITV share price. Then Liberty would have used the 1 billion to buyout ITV with the billion we paid them and a tiny fraction more.

Liberty would have made sure the ITV BoD all got nice redundancy payments and us ordinary investors would have lost out . Somebody at OFCOM must have warned ITV not to even go near the deal unless they wanted the full scrutiny of Parliament and serious fraud office.

It stank more than Schofield on a night out with all the ITV runners.

The review into Schofield was reported in the Sun a week ago. It had not started. It was likely to take 2-3 months. Then there would be a delay between before it goes out to the public. So October to November at the earliest. 4-5 months more of uncertainty where the Commons Select Committee can dig up more dirt on the ITV BoD and force them to resign.

Aviduser look at the trading for this time last year. It had dipped to mid 60s only to briefly rally to 73p by end of July. August it crashed down to mid 50s. This year you have the uncertainty over the managements handling of sexual exploitation and possible Parliamentary intervention in the winter when the report is published. If anything ITV is trading below where it was last year and with a huge potential blow to market confidence and brand coming down.

Could go lower than 53 this time round.

Solley has been wishing for sensible helpful comments for 5 years now. Ever since the Dame arrived he/she has been complaining about the quality of comments whilst failing to realise that they were motivated by the abysmal leadership.

There is more to come. Schofield's coming out in 2020 was as a result of the Sun having a story similar to the BBC presenter one. This was not the runner who has always maintained his silence and not attempted to blackmail the star. There has been so much negative rumours around Phil for years and the senior ITV management all buried their heads. Once he testified on oath that he was caught up in his brothers illegal acts it was no longer possible for most people to work with him.

We have only seen the tip of the iceberg here. Caz has known all along that Phil was a serious risk to the ITV name.

The runner is an abuse of power. Needed a dismissal. What is more unforgivable and what Phil's coworkers got upset about and then forced management to act was that squeaky clean Phil did not report child sex abuse. Why was this scumbag allowed back on air by the Dame and Lygo?

With the runner the Dame has some wriggle room. She just claims she was lied to 12 times. She has the independent legal consul conducting a cover up for her there which will clear her of all blame.

What is unforgiveable is that when Schofield appeared at his brothers trial for sexually abusing a child, Phil admitted to knowing about his brothers action. 3 months where he did not report his brother until the police arrested him. Schofield testified under oath to this in court. He then goes back to ITV and Lygo and McCall decide he can go back on air despite doing something which would be automatic dismissal in many professions.

McCall and Lygo thought that it was okay for the ITV brand to have someone on a daytime (family show) who had knowingly not reported an act of child sex abuse. His colleagues all knew that he was an accomplice of sorts and were just expected to put up with it despite knowing he had previous form for grooming young ITV employees.

Public service broadcaster needs somebody fit and proper to enforce codes of conduct and stop high paid media people from abusing their power. The Dame just dithers on everything. Not good enough for 3.5 million PA.

Sadly the report on the 27th is not the investigation into why the CEO of ITV allowed someone who had testified in court that they had assisted a paedophile go back on air on daytime tv. We will have to wait until winter to see the Burberry wearing blagger CEO shown the door by ITV security.

Robs you need to read legal analysis. Nobody is sure if the presenters actions are anything which constitutes a crime. The parents have only gone to the sun and not got a crime reference. They should push the police to prosecute. Unlike ITV the young victim is not an employee so the presenter has not abused their position unlike Schofield who has abused his power and position for years and the ITV board were too scared to tackle him head on.

It looks like blackmail from where I am Jed. Mother of victim is using the Sun to extort more money and to buy her silence. Hence no name has been released.

With ITV it was a family member. Phil Schofield covered up for a paedophile who has now been convicted. The CEO despite knowing he had done this put him back on air despite staff complaints and uneasiness. McCall has no issues with her staff not reporting child exploitation to the police

The trade deals are happening? Where? Where is the EU trade deal? The US trade deal? The India trade deal? The China trade deal? Canada? We got Japan and Australia over the line so far. Less than 0.1of GDP.

Even Brussels incompetence and lack of auditors was not this poor. 12months time and Labour will reverse much of the Brexit nonsense by entering into an EU trade deal that sees us sign up to European Human Rights Charter. This knee jerk far right movement has been allowed its time on the seat of power and the little Englanders promised land has failed miserably.
