RE: Record breaking.8 Jul 2024 05:44
Robs you are in denial. Look at the last 20 years and you will see that ITV revenues from advertising and free to Air are in decline. Terminal decline. Successive CEO's and Boards have seen that the future of ITV as a broadcaster are bleak and have deployed different strategies. Crozier's strategy of building a studio business met with City approval. Dame Carolyn's change in approach and showering money on production staff and studios to make unprofitable content has met with disapproval.
There will be no broadcasting business in 10 years. This is factored into the Share Price. ITV is only worth the value of its studios.
Claiming record viewing figures is a nonsense. Football has always brought big audiences to ITV. To focus on that one big audience is to ignore that every other show and format are losing figures. Job cuts and the big saturday night productions are going. 100million BGT is getting axed. That cost was too great to meet but it also means 100million in advertising revenue gone.
Change is also needed here. Carolyn and her cronies are starting to resemble the post Cameron era Tories. Bumbling around with no real clue and crazy Rwanda policies to distract from their own inability.
US and International looking young CEO who can strike strategic deals and incorporate more tech and gaming into ITV. Media and entertainment compnay rather than old 20th century free to air broadcaster.
Evolve, adapt, change.
