3.5bn often gets mentioned as the value of the studios. Nobody discusses the real value of Free to Air Broadcasting. Granted it generates revenue right now but the costs are high and the profits seems to be dwindling year on year. With an eye to the future where more of the elderly audiences pass away and young people switch off from normal tv programming. Where budgets are trimmed, staff laid off and content reduced. Is it possible that the other part of ITV is only worth £1?

Maybe 60p is a good reflection of where ITV is heading?

Upcoming sports events???? It has been a long time since ITV was the leading sports broadcaster. If anything the sports events are driving income away from ITV and to its competitors. SKY, BT and BBC have better sports events to watch over the summer and Autumn. Wimbledon and the Olympics will impact heavily on ITV. England vs Iceland was on C4 the other night so lost ad revenue there.

You really have no clue about UK sports and their audiences. You are just piling all your money into one share and making one huge stab in the dark and hoping for the best.

Oh and talking of sporting events..... BBC has the Olympics and BBC gets higher audiences than ITV now so those 2 weeks of world class live sporting events every day and night will eat into ITV audience shares and revenues. Only 1 hour ahead in Paris so all ITV daytime and evening audiences are going to take drastic hits over those 2 weeks.

Maybe they will just screen Bond films in an attempt to reduce costs. Khohkol will be excited to watch "From Russia with love".

Rugby World Cup last summer, Qatar World Cup 18 months ago. No significant effect to ITV profit. Maybe just additional revenue and costs.

As for my views on Ukraine. Perfectly avoidable war with diplomacy only the west now gets to rebuild its military infrastructure whilst sending all the obsolete stuff to Ukraine. The Ukrainian people have been played by ultra nationalists who have not brought them greater self rule and democracy and economic prosperity. You have 100s of snatch squads on the streets in Ukraine rounding up men to be forcibly sent to the front and to die.

My views on Russia I will never put on a public forum. I need to visit Russia so it is best to stay silent. I talk to Russians that I meet and in private we discuss support for the Putin regime. Putin will not be here forever but will eventually die from natural causes. Until then a policy of peaceful coexistence between Russia, China and the west is best.

Just did some back reading around the drama Orphan Black. The series that Winnie is raving about was not even made by ITV. AMC studios and BBC America. BBC must have decided not to air it on their channels and let ITV use it to fill out the content on ITVX.
