Scancell (up to last week) was purely a research organisation with no income .. which is normal for pure research businesses ..

Last week things changed and scancell became a biotech with some income (upfront payment) and further potential significant income in milestone payments (up to $208M) and royalties ! On a tiny part of its portfolio !

With funding being the main bugbear for scancell doubters … surely for some of those sitting on the sidelines, the ‘risk’ has changed somewhat ?

Still .. this is a lot better than the usual fall in the share price on news ! Lol ..

I’ve never posted my thoughts on ultimate value .. I’m leaving that to the experts (the development team) .. but I’m going to stick my neck out and say more than the current value !

I think the guessing is a bit of fun but I’m happy to wait for reality to answer ‘value’ question… I guess a bit like Burble?

Even if we just take the headline news that Scancell have moved the trial on to the expansion phase .. means another hurdle has been completed successfully .. even disregarding the comment on the first patient I’m just fascinated that it’s only pro active (unsurprisingly) that feel it worth a comment!

I’m certainly not suggesting the company should push ‘hype’ .. but the ‘quiet’ out there about even this is interesting !

“ An inflammatory response that develops 24 to 72 hours after exposure to an antigen that the immune system recognizes as foreign. This type of immune response involves mainly T cells rather than antibodies (which are made by B cells). Also called DTH.”

Scancell did one 5 years into its Scib1 trial .. and it was spectacular .. shows all ‘events’ per patient during the trial ..

I don’t think you are missing anything .. We know patients are receiving modi1 .. and I know in past trials scancell have run they have given a very specific time line for doses … I’m just wondering whether the dosing regime for modi1 is still being investigated and an optimum ‘timetable’ is part of the investigation or could it even be patient specific depending on how each patient is responding on their individual journey ?

Just my thoughts of course !

Just done a quick search for scancell news .. the only new update is from pro active ? This has not hit the wider airwaves yet!

Scancell was still worth more 12 months ago ..!

I think for me it’s the safety aspect alongside the early signs of response that make this doubly exciting.

When ‘tinkering’ with the immune system one of the biggest risks are the off target side effects as seen with other immunotherapies !

This is looking like it’s working exactly as Lindy and her team is expecting ..

Reading some of the press on the scancell news , I also like this comment from LD ..

“ Scancell is one of only a few companies globally which has the capability to produce high affinity, humanised anti-glycan antibodies and the board remains excited for what the future holds for this platform.”

With such progress it’s surprising the share price is still well below where it was a year ago !
