I’m not sure it is as simple as that … if it ‘works’ in the first person dosed in any trial it’s never reported until the whole trial is completed … However , if the first person dosed suffers a catastrophic reaction then that would have to be reported ..

Clinical trials need more than one positive result to take to the next stage but one complication could stop the trial in its tracks ..

All we know is that the trial is continuing .. for now ..

It will be ten months since we were informed of the first patient dosed in the Covidity phase 1 trial on 5th August !! And still no reported safety concerns ..

Update soon !?? I think so ..

Thanks for the guardian article .. S2 ? This looks like very early stage research to me .. also Covidity does target an area of the spike protein which is less prone to mutation .. the key receptor binding domain (RBD).

.. I should have said ‘more data’ .. obviously we already have Scib1 data summarised in that superb swimmer plot of its phase 1/2 trial in late stage resented melanoma.

Indeed that too .. but as Modi1 (or Moditope at all) had ever been tested in vivo in humans before .. ISA must have done some due diligence and come to the conclusion that the risks were worth it for their technology too!?

.. just a thought .. you certainly wouldn’t want to amplify the immune response if there was a risk that the response being amplified was thought to be harmful in any way !!

Important to remember that that research was done using current vaccines targeting the S protein only.

Obviously Covidity not only targets the N protein too but also has avidimab bolted on which should increase the antibody response too!

However, it did bring to mind .. Immunobody / Moditope combination treatments ? I wonder if that could ever ‘be a thing’?

I’m out watching my son play cricket but a quick search came up with fairly usual side effects seen with these treatments ..

“ Most of the adverse events resulting from treatment with naptumomab estafenatox related to increased levels of cytokines and are expected as part of the mechanism of action. Pyrexia, vomiting, nausea, chills, and back pain were commoner after treatment with naptumomab estafenatox.”

They recon there is a subset it ‘might’ work in .. so going again ..
