All this encouraging data.... What we really need is a good news RNS. Anything will do now: "Synairgen are pleased to announce that Maud, our Tea Lady, has successfully negotiated a 25% discount on PG Tips".

I have thought the same brrr. Pre-RNS, the company was "valued" at upwards of 220p / share based on expectation and hope. With a good Sprinter deep-dive, good Activ 2, EUAs, JVs and perish the thought....A PRODUCT TO SELL!!!... the value surely must be above this value, let alone the 100p-150p mark?

I've heard a lot of good things about these "interferons" - they sound extremely positive... ;-)

Hi Andybe4. Was going to write a cutting response ridiculing your percentages, particularly point 1 at 3%. However, on reflection I think you might not be too far off. To me, the chances of finding anything meaningful in the deep dives could be quite high, possibly 80%+ given the fact we know that there were positive findings in the SPRINTER data (albeit buried away amongst the overall negative slant of that fateful RNS), and that ACTIV has been deemed good enough to progress to p3.

...however, whether Synairgen report this positively in an RNS and follow it up diligently with an EUA and product? Yeah, 3% chance is probably fair on that question :-)

It does that occasionally, check back later and it should be back to normal.

Great work Tommy. You and a few other notable posters have recently been putting forward some very compelling reasons why we may have enough positive data as it is, without the need for any further platform trials etc. Clearly the authorities will be a much tougher audience for Synairgen than us loyal investors, but nice to have a bit of positivity and hope.

Best to probably ring Synairgen and tell them to pull their finger out, just in case they're all dicking about on team-building or diversity courses etc...

Let's hope that's what they do Brand...I'm still waiting for the oft-mentioned "mother of all RNS's" - choc-full of positive news only please :-)

I agree with everything you say Tommy - this factual positivity needs to get out to a wider audience though. Google "Synairgen" and the words "failed trial" aren't hard to find in the results unfortunately - contrary to other inferior drugs which hardly work, have a plethora of side effects but show as "next Covid wonder drug found" etc.

I presume the "potent antiviral activity" which SNG001 has against Omicron and Delta (news recently tucked away in a wider RNS announcement), was based on tests done with the BA.1 variant, rather than BA.2? This being the case, and given the news of the danger BA.2 poses, I trust that Synairgen are carrying further testing on this variant with gusto??

The Company also announced that in vitro studies conducted at Viroclinics-DDL in the Netherlands have shown that SNG001 has potent antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 Delta and Omicron variants at concentrations that are readily achievable following inhaled delivery of interferon beta.

Ditto Mike - and it's even more baffling given the supposed calibre of most of the team at Synairgen. These are very clever people, yet seem to make the most basic of errors sometimes. I too shall continue to keep the faith, but something really tangible to show that our faith isn't misfounded would be very welcome ASAP.

The secondary end points were significantly better than SOC.
Progression to serious illness/death within 35d was 36.3% better
Progression to intubation/death within 35d was 32% better
Progression to Death within 35d was 40.5% better.

Conclusion. It works. Of that there is no doubt. The safety profile alone is immense.

The trial 'failed' for 3 reasons
1. Improved SOC & Vaccinations changed the playing field
2. The trial design was based on the P2 trial and not seriously changed to reflect the new landscape
3. Even though 6 times the size of P2, it was still not powered enough to drive out statistical significance.

NOT because the drug doesn't work, because it obviously does.

...for a big pharmaceutical of the likes of Pfizer - who make billions in the time it takes their CEO to eat his burger and chips for lunch and who would have the resources to ensure that SNG001 did make it to market and a lot quicker - if they were able to buy Synairgen for 225p/share (£450M), I think that would be the bargain of the century.

Agree with your point about "panic selling" - although as has been discussed at length on here, it's a shame the company management didn't do more to help prevent this with a more positively worded on RNS on miserable Monday. Spilt milk now, but would be nice if they learn to really push and celebrate any positive news in future RNSs. We can but hope...

It is certainly very sad to see the share price languishing so low and it can be difficult to believe that it would ever get to levels of 3 weeks ago, let alone any higher. Logically, if the deep dive does drive out these much better statistically-significant results then we should be well back in the game with EUAs/orders etc, but I guess time will tell.

As for me...I'll settle for a tenth of Numis's original bull prediction (£85) right now :-P
