Fleet numbers are remaining positive. Fleet have achieved over 31.4m km per week for the last two weeks.

last week 740,000 km more were recorded in the figures quoted at 2pm The 2pm figures have been higher for the last 6 weeks. Public holidays, usually on a Monday may be holding the actual increases back but the trend remains upwards.

Do they only need to give notice when they move across a full percentage ? They moved over 12 to 12.01% and therefore do not need to notify again until 13.01%

Could this be part of a bigger process. A question was asked a few days ago - why did the trading have a massive increase in early May ? Could this have been a discussion about an offer for SEE ? Could it be a condition that an offer would not be made unless the CEO and chairman were removed first?

Its up about 5.1m km per week. Someone said the average is 350km / day/ vehicle. If its over 5 days its 2085 new vehicles since 2nd feb or 2919 if its every day. So we are looking at 20 - 28 per day

Fleet recorded 30,349,556km last week

Easter and the recent Bank Holidays has affected the weekly km data but its looking like we will be over 30m km this week. Thats up about 4m per week since January. Mid week, Fleet figures are pushing 5m km per day. It will be interesting to watch the split between the 2am & 2pm numbers over time.

What about Wrightbus at Ballymena near Belfast as another outlet for Guardian

The previous note said First Bus were to install 70 units. I think the first installation was 26 on the Glasgow airport run.

With the system going down for most of the day I have taken the same km figure as last Sunday. This gives 29.6m km in 7 days. This is 1.5m km more than the previous best and nearly 3m km / week more than in January. How it could jump so much in a week is still a puzzle.

Its looking like km will be up over 400,000 km on each day this week against the corresponding day last week. At 350km per day thats 1100 new units in operation. If you take all the new installations since we got access to the data, at 350km / day, that would be 519000km.

I have posted a couple of graphs. (We can expect the calculated figure for today to drop through the day but the trend will be very much up)

Any ideas on how this could be achieved , other than turning on another data bank?

Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium, Sound like good news to me.

Three major carmakers are forming a consortium to help draw up safety standards for self-driving cars that could eventually help create regulations in the US.

General Motors, Ford, and Toyota said they are joining forces with automotive engineering group SAE International to establish autonomous vehicle “safety guiding principles to help inform standards development”.

Interesting Fleet comments. Since we got access to the Fleet installation data we have averaged 17.0 = 119 per week. The largest number of Installations was 238 but then it drops down to 159. The average per week is 125. I would suggest this is way off 200 per week.
The good news is that Mon/ tues/ wed last week the distance travelled was 12.8m. km This week its 14.1m . Up a cool 10%. On my figures it went over 5m km in a day for the first time on Tuesday & up 400,000 today over last week. At 350km per vehicle, that we used previously ,thats a large increase.

At 17.0 per day we should achieve 16000 by 27th May & 27000 by 4th March 2021. They seem to be working with different data.

The Group who posted on Twitter that they had installed Guardian on a production line in Scotland a couple of weeks ago yesterday posted that they had just finished training on the installation of the next generation of Guardian.

Bit slow 15038. Its looking like a big jump in km from 1st April. I guess this is the real measure as it brings in the money.

In January we were told that First Bus were to install Guardian:

"Phase one of the agreement is the fit-out of Guardian to a number of services in the UK and Ireland and has begun with Glasgow Buchanan Street Bus Station to Glasgow Airport. The installation across the region will comprise a mix of retrofit to existing coaches and new builds with Guardianpre-installed. This phase is expected to cover more than 70 buses and coaches and to be completed in early 2019.”

Mid March we found out that installations were on going on a production line in Scotland which we thought would be Alexander Dennis in Falkirk.

Yesterday 12 Alexander Dennis buses started on the Glasgow to the Airport run.

Looks like it may take 2 weeks from installation to adding km to the counter, or they were waiting for the start of the month.

Did the other 58 go into service yesterday ?
