Well, only hours to go before the end of trading for 2023.
We will end up down by about 30% on end 2022 despite the raft of good news in 2023 but we seem to be heading in the right direction for a substantial re-rating
Predictions for end 2024-crystal ball just a little hazy I'm afraid but if I look closely I think I can see the outline of a bottle of Dom Perignon or is it just my fevered imagination?
HNY to all you Chaps and Chappesses-may we all prosper and may long-suffering psoriasis victims find some welcome relief from an affliction you would not wish on your worst enemy.
Agree. The BLM movement started 10 years ago, not because of the Floyd incident. In other words has Aviva not piggybacked on the wave of protest which followed the Floyd incident to curry investor favour rather than starting to review its policies when BLM was first founded?
All life is precious and for Aviva to publish a document which seems to apply that abiding principle to one section of the population alone can only be described as blatant discrimination.
Have been out of touch for some days due to illness, now resolved, and have ploughed through a mass of verbiage about our esteemed leader Amanda and her actions/o[policies, some of it quite vitriolic, but without being able to ascertain the reason
Would appreciate a thumbnail sketch of the origin of this latest chapter in the Aviva Story
(I did pick up on the reduction in investment in certain sectors and that disturbs me somewhat. How can a handful of chaps/chappesses round a table assume that their shareholders hold the same views, shareholders who are expecting their BoD to make the best returns, not play ducks and drakes with their money)
Possibly because we are in a potentially long "dead" period?
We know we will be waiting until at least H1 (Everyone else works in "Q's") which in theory could be over 6 months away, before any significant news is ready to drop so maybe the MM's don't want to trade at all at present. That's certainly how it seems as you infer Faty.
OK keep on being scathing as it seems to give you some sort of perverse pleasure but please do brush up on your English comprehension.
"Perhaps one of the Gurus on the subject can reassure us please (Genuine request-not having a go)"
Not quite sure how that could be construed as whinging but there is of course a school of thought on this BB that anyone having the temerity to express any form of pragmatism is automatically labelled as a "whinger"
Within a month of last year's AGM the price had "soared" to 117.50
Within hours of this year's AGM it has slumped to 50 and this is spite of a raft of good news this year
We are told to "believe in the science"-after this morning's Management performance that's all we have left really.
Perhaps one of the Gurus on the subject can reassure us please (Genuine request-not having a go)
....... this morning's shambles has mostly been commented upon, but what got to me, and many others I suspect, was the almost total lack of charisma and enthusiasm. They all looked bored to tears, kept shuffling their sodding papers and at one stage Mitchell was doodling on his pad.
The overall impression was one of " what on earth am I doing here when I could be in the "Frog & Nightgown" in Much Rutting in the Wold enjoying a pint"
Is it any wonder nobody, but nobody since the poor HNWI saps were sucked in, has invested a penny. If confronted by that bunch of woodentops pitching their product would you?????
A disgusting shambles.
Rant over ( fuelled by the news I need two new tyres at £320 due to the plethora of flooded potholes in my area)
"Apologies the investor speaking can not be heard . The venue audio is not available . IMC can not address this issue. Questions from attendees in the room will be repeated by the chairman"
Talk about Fred Karno's Army-what a shambles.
(Just listened to the very good searching composite question about poor PR/IR and now listening to Tweety batting it away in his usual urbane fashion-groan)
Sound getting worse-giving up- what a farce
Carter-possibly not but now it is more than hinted at that we are gazing into 2025 or maybe even beyond before any real tradeable fruit is born. We can't just go on forever-over a decade these jokers have been poncing about while all around us we are told deals are being done by companies much younger than Sareum.
Dunno about you but I don't want to be enjoying said fruits while tottering along on my Zimmer frame!
I dealt with such guarantees back in the 80's for big ticket contracts in the ME. Never saw one called in for the simple reason that the companies involved and the banks issuing the guarantees ensured they were financially and technically capable of fulfilling the contracts before entering into them. To do otherwise would have been corporate suicide.
Rebster.
Agree about the "hard questions" but Tweety Parker is a past master at evasive answers I'm afraid-that's why they (we) pay him such an obscene fee I feel 'cos I have yet to see any robust evidence of him achieving anything whatsoever which has advanced the fortunes of this company.
"The Phase 1a clinical trial, evaluating SDC-1801 in healthy subjects, commenced in May 2023 at a specialist clinical unit in Melbourne, Australia.
",,,,the Company plans to initiate a Phase 1b clinical study, aiming to recruit up to 24 psoriasis patients. This study is expected to be completed before the end of 2024"
First a clinical trial and now a clinical study (the difference being??) taking us on another 12 months. Always jam tomorrow as per the last decade.
Then, despite encouraging noises last December 737 still dead in the water.
Yawn.
