I know a raging left wing socialist who, over the years, has been milking the NHS (job hopping and collecting severance payments then getting back in at enhanced rates of pay) and the other half as an "academic" ie producing FA while collecting a huge salary.

I don't think SP will consider "advancing years" to be a reason for throwing away a nice little £100k pa sinecure, especially as nobody seems to know what he does during his "3 day" week.

The eternal question I'm afraid that posters to this BB have been voicing for years. IMHO the market does NOT like these long silences especially for a company with a somewhat chequered record vis a vis appalling communication from the BoD, the mediocre presentations at the AGM ( year before last I think it was all the Directors looked as though they were bored out of their skulls) and on other occasions: missed timetables: a drug (737) that has been bouncing around the world for several years now and, at present, from a practical view point, only one product that is anywhere near coming to market and even then is taking an age just to get over the various hurdles, and of course the regular need for more cash just to keep the company head above water.

Yes, we have been told we are "best in class" and all that guff, but ask yourself the question as an investor, would you put shedloads of moolah into this company which just ain't producing despite having been at it for the better part of 15 years.

As for your lower end estimate of 300 million. This equates to £2.24/ share i.e. a 1,600% increase on today's price. Is this feasible/realistic when one considers that 737 has been like a ping pong ball for many years now.

Most useful information for which thanks but what happened to the good old days when the annual accounts were not full of "adjustments" which, while intended I think to make the figures more "realistic" do muddy the waters.

Nail on head with a vengeance. My reminiscences go back "a bit further" than the 90's but my life then was just as you describe.

Having said that walk down any high street on a Friday/Saturday nights and see the amount of moolah the young are throwing at pub/club owners on a regular basis, ditto jollies abroad just to watch football matches, ditto regular foreign holidays and ask your self the question have they just got past caring about the future and are following the governmental trend of live now and somebody will pay later, or are they pulling more than we ever dreamed of.

As I understand it about 330m shares are to be issued to DG shareholders plus a substantial pot of cash. Will this result in a dilution of the SP or will the NAV or similar being taken over act as a compensatory factor?

Why don't you read the post properly. It was a quoted comment from Leggster at 14.47: I merely put forward a theoretical response as to what might happen. As others have commented we are, at present, heavily biased towards the success of one product i.e.1801: if you think it is our guaranteed saviour then fine-each one to his own opinion but it seems that still we have a faction on this BB who feel any even quasi negative comment is not acceptable.

It was meddling Australian journalists who put Petrofac on the skids 8 years ago. Then we fell into the clutches of a bunch of grossly incompetent government bean counters, headed ultimately by an American with connections to the Mafia who had her knuckles rapped twice by the judiciary for conduct unbecoming.

This rendered the company powerless to obtain any new business of note for several years and this, combined with an unholy alliance of lawyers and accountants is why we are where we are today.
