Afternoon Brigade,

Dull and frosty here.
No action on the trading front, plus fallen back a little from the massive rise of 15p yesterday so not sold any tranche ( range from 1420 to 1480 in 4 lots! ). I ***WAS*** tempted last couple of days with the Brigades fantastic adventures on the planet ASOS, sell Plus at a largish loss and buy ASC for a £3 a share swing.... lucky I didn't!

Has the market over heated a bit lately, there do seem to be a lot of significant drops in price on many of the shares on my watchlist, amid some big climbers?

Yes, up and about on a wet and dull Thursday.

T - not seen much in the way of spikes on PLES yet, got to 1360 and flat to small drop just now, not enough range yet to recover the loss if I sold - would need to do 10 trades at least!!

SNG steady, like S I expect further news / publicity and SP rise.

7Dig have started a rise, near break even on one tranche but way off on other - bought on fast rise before xmas, didn't sell on the peak and fell right back! Hit 4p then down to under 1p in a few days.

OH mother is in a care home and had her covid jab last Friday.
We have had letters re: flu jab this week, OH had her's at the GP's last week.

Florida hols rebooked before xmas for August, airport taxi booked yesterday .... hope it's OK by then ... we will have been vaccinated for covid by then I expect!

This board seems working better today.

S & T - not sold any SNG yet, one tranche is in profit but waiting to reach the recent offer price of 175p to sell more - it shot past it yesterday and today at open but too quick for me or my limit sell!
The RNS covering first dosing in worldwide phase 3 trials may drive the price up this week.
Included in USA Activ-2 trials.

PLUS still going down..... at least if stuck with them until mid Feb it's ex-divi date!

S - yep, had been watching Plus meander in the low 1400's and then 1380's .... noticed SNG creeping up. In my sell territory for a low price tranche, a bit more and I can release a few tranches!

S - yes, watching Plus, my tranches range from 1420 to 1478 so some hope of hitting a sale!

ARB -= anti roll bar ! I'd seen them mentioned and recommended a lot last week or two, not looked into them really.

I know what you mean about only selling once, if I cashed in my biggest profit in GGP I would have no GGP just more cash!

I'm possibly 9% down on the fund/share p/f due to SNG, GGP and PLUS falls ... not in much else now! From Monday that is.

As the Brigade is working out first week profits or loss, I managed 5% on my ISA account, 0.3% on the fund/share account.

Mainly as stuck myself with 4 tranches of Plus as they fell, all above 1400 !! So I am cash out now and missed a few good trade opportunities !
Rule 8 - always tomorrow!

Not decided on a sensible weekly target yet, X£££ or % of PF ... probably £X.

S - Don't follow my style on AXS or others, as you know what happens when I buy ( it falls ) and when I sell ( it rises).
I kept out of ASC so you guys could get a good run at silly rises!

Bump so my last post shows!

Moderna vaccine now approved in UK.
17.5m doses ordered.

Plus dropped as a board member sold 2.5 million shares ( 2.5% of company! ) and other holders jumped ship too!
Financials were good but did mention they lost to customers in Q4 so bad quarter.
Probably crawl back up towards divi data in mid Feb.

Pets at home updated Financials, they're flying.

Most of my shares are down ... Plus, GGP, SNG ... good top up time if you have funds!

Thought it was quiet here ... posts were still at last night until recently!

Watchlist is majorly red ... and my overall is down as GGP and SNG have fallen back, and Plus is still sitting low.

Noticed that article was from 8 Dec 20 ... before we really got on with vaccinations!

Despite the RNS/TR1 at SNG, hardly moved all day!

Plus fell a bit, settled around the 1420's. Hoping for the end of day rise!

The answer is really no one knows yet!

As it says, it takes time for the body to respond to the vaccine but once ready it is likely to kill the virus in the nose too... it IS known that it takes 7-10 days post vaccination get gain sufficient immunity and during this time the individual COULD BE infected and spreading... that was said after the first UK vaccinations as those injected considered themselves safe and started to go about their business with no precautions! Again probably over hyped but a warning to behave!

That article even quotes a Dr.
"Still, he and other experts said they were optimistic that the vaccines would suppress the virus enough even in the nose and throat to prevent immunized people from spreading it to others."

“My feeling is that once you develop some form of immunity with the vaccine, your ability to get infected will also go down,” said Akiko Iwasaki, an immunologist at Yale University. “Even if you’re infected, the level of virus that you replicate in your nose should be reduced.”

A nasal spray dose as they mentioned really only sits in the mucous, is not readily absorbed thru the mucous membrane ( I have used the Vicks First Defense spray when I thought I was getting a cold/flu, seems to work! ). Drugs can be absorbed thru the membrane ( e.g. heart meds dissolved under the tongue ) so maybe these vaccines do too.

We need SNG001 too! ;-)

Target for vaccinations, by mid Feb, was the top 4 groups on the list - care home patients and workers, over 80's, over 70's and those clinically at risk at any age.

Although WAS said on news last night or in Boris's press conference that were looking to do everyone over 50 by March ...

I think the target was over 20 million people by April!

The vaccine gets the body to prepare anti bodies and killer T-cells BEFORE the actual virus infection.
So the delay in a week or so for the body to make these defenses is already done ( by the dummy virus in the vaccine, either a piece of genetic code that then makes the virus spike protein, or a piece of virus in a harmless virus carrier ), as the body has seen the invader and mobilises the troops;
so if/when you get the virus the antibodies attach to the virus, stopping it invading the cell to make more, and the T-cells then eat the virus.

Rinse and repeat!

So the virus cannot make massive amounts of itself as the body has defenses in place to prevent this.

Once all virus killed then person is "free" of transmissible virus.

OK, they could still carry it on hands and spread it that way, they just wouldn't be infected or ill themselves, and way less likely to spread by mouth / spray / coughing.
