Pipeline strangulation at Station #5 is of no help to the upgraded refinery. PetroTal growth is crucial to Talara's success. With >$4bn finance poured into the new refinery a combination of carrot-and-stick will have to be introduced. Castillo and cronies will have quickly discovered that well-meaning soundbites are not going to turn the economy around.

PTAL have proved that it is possible to operate without any environmental disasters. BRETAÑA has a 1.3m-acre footprint. A lot more oil is going to be found in the Vivian (and perhaps other horizons). A great deal of planning and development have gone into creating a single pad with at least one 2.4 km horizontal.

Was having another look at Iquitos capacity and a question on extra barge availability to Manaus . . . not an easy exercise to accommodate all the barrels now available.

Offer has dropped to 87.45p. Waiting for another opportunity.

It's a real minefield when examining data: one China report today highlights $4trillion hidden debt which, if accurate, is a shaker. And I thought the US$ faced immense problems. (It would therefore be smart to retain, e.g. CEY and SHG, even if they languish at present.)

Wishful thinking this morning. It's rising from 87p to buy. Had to capitulate with a 87.6p add-on.

Following Friday's four lumpy sells and looming Cushing deficit we have two conflicting signals. Yet there must be expectations of further Brent increases . . . even though WTI is in a different ballpark.

HKEX suspensions are at record levels. Effects elsewhere will also have impact. My oil/gas p/f is not performing quite as expected. Equally Au stocks - despite continuing bullish forecasts - can hardly be described as flourishing.

We can only persevere with investigation and hope for eventual margins/returns at some point.

Seemingly no progress at Station #5. The protesters must be evicted quickly. Anyone who has been on an oil tanker or facilities knows the security dangers. Just needs one of them to light a cigarette . . ..

Another entry for 13th. Statistician on the ball at last. Dependent on Saramuro tank levels on 05/10 they will have reached capacity within 30 days on no pipeline throughput. How long does it take to load a 20k barrel barge and how many of them are there? Conjuring trick required.

Looking for a Novum update but there are other operators on the Ucayali going down to Iquitos and Manaus.

Perhaps a slight bottleneck ahead but the bottom line is, "I don't have enough PTAL".
