Had a chat with a broker acquaintance over the weekend on "arbitrage" insofar as it applied to PTAL on LSE and TSX. Can't claim it provided a clear definition but certainly convinced me to keep an open window on the Toronto ticker -
Any alternative will suffice. Check in @ 2:30pm BST (NB. Canadian summer time is ending shortly.) In effect if TAL climbs again this afternoon there should be a knock-on impact here. As Sturm indicated Petrotal is generally more robust over there.
I am in the stock for the long haul. Likewise with JSE. The sum invested there exceeds PTAL which has been added to since ~14.5p. Both companies should have a very bright medium-term future.
@ 07:25 - He could have added 2 x 220k barrels can be sent down-river monthly to Manaus plus a few more barrels to Iquitos. That barge arrangement was a masterstroke . . . most of all Talara having spent $4.8bn needs every drop it can get from the country's now biggest producer.
If anything Petroperu will up its contract if it hasn't already done so.
I'm beginning to regard the target as conservative. On reflection the full overview is impressive but at this point you might only be interested from p.14 onwards.
Fund managers were increasing their stakes up to end-August and the following IIs were adding during September. JPM, though modest, were new to the scene.
FIL Investment Services (UK) Ltd Artemis Investment Management LLP Ballie Gifford & Co Limited. FIL Fund Management Limited FIL Life Insurance Limited JPMorgan Asset Management (Japan) Ltd American Century Investments
Though heavily biased/partial to JSE I am considering adding here or to another favourite on Monday. The big question: Will 20k boepd be reached in Q4? It's likely followed by Maari confirmation..
Will be examining the above Guinea comparison over the weekend. At first glance the grades fall short of Bushi/Isulu. I can see why Eric needs to get a finger out. Lots of drilling ahead.
I noted you are in a handful of good shares. It gets awkward splitting a decent p/f when funds are limited, or they are in my case. And I don't want to tamper with JSE.
Familiar slow start to the morning although I note we are already up to 23.99p (to buy). Should have taken up more yesterday but had thought 24p unlikely before Monday. If Toronto is active at 2:30 BST it could get busy. 25+p anyone?
Skimmed some stock from JSE and put it here as potentially there are strong movements for PTAL tomorrow. Anticipating 24p as imminent. Too bad if wrong . . . it can remain bedded until BN-9H is completed. (Sakhalin-1 @ 15,000 metres is currently the world's longest horizontal.)
Being of limited intellect I am none too sure how arrangements function in tandem with Toronto. We need a broker on the board to describe precisely how the arbitrage works. In the meantime I keep a live stream on both PTAL and TXP in order to time purchases as both companies have become a major part of the AIM p/f.
@ 11:11 - o/t - Luderitz, if you are from that part of the world, is there anything I should be looking at in Namibia? . . . e.g. a revival of the copper mines there or perhaps down in NoordKaap?
