Very little response to the sort of update we often dream of when looking for a gem, small though it may be at this point. My last add-on was @ 14.24p. Should have bought more instead of pursuing a couple of other interesting stocks.

However, with projected end-year production, there are opportunities ahead. In the meantime I look for more insti participation together with resumption of a divi. The two factors alone should put PTAL in the frame. I shall never understand the PI mindset on the AIM . . . nearly always a preference for startups that will go nowhere.

Equally, the Kopore background is unlikely to fill anyone with confidence. IMO Zamsort, etc remains the only pearl to reveal itself.

How to find mineralisation beneath the Kalahari sands. Knowing the 40+ metre sand depths through much of Botswana tonight's search provides the first clue, viz. -

look for the termite pillars dotting the landscape. Their diggings go down 100+ metres; "see a few small fossil tunnels that had been made hundreds of thousands of years ago when the first miners at Jwaneng, the termites, burrowed down to get moist clay with which to build their large mounds at the surface; in bringing up moist clay from the kimberlite, they also brought up the small kimberlitic garnets and ilmenites, and it was these mineral grains that our soil-sampling programmes found and that led us to the Jwaneng pipe."

So they are the first explorers. Equally the nest colonies will theoretically provide accurate initial Cu sampling. No need for aeromagnetics which might be ineffective with all the overburden

At the present rate, together with an unexpected unknown spanner screwing things up, some time is going to elapse on ARCM's NW Zambian ops. And it's impossible to predict if the current SP will be dragged down a few more notches.

Exact license distances from Zone 5's three box cuts vary. I read 10 km and then 35 km which is a big margin of error. Someone has already pointed out variables in diagram maps. From recall the Kalahari sand cover runs deep. (I note 40 metres is a general average - quite an overburden before mineralisation.) At depth, without aeromagnetics, very little can be established at this point. Also, whereas EZ/LL (Shanta) get off their jacks with repeated visits to Kenya/Tanz, one has to ask if NvS has put in the same mileage on projects.

I take the view that meaningful progress will not take place before July. Other holders have been in ARCM for years and are better placed to comment or criticise. My one perception is the task can not be undertaken from a desk in London or Johannesburg.

Have just skimmed through Kopore's dealings.

First I assume they did not overlook renewal of the two listed prospecting licences on 30/09/2020. If they did, NvS has this small detail in hand if the two tenements' licences have lapsed.

Kopore did not make waves last year. Botswana put up the covid barrier.

Whilst I had been busy scratching around Namibia and the Kalahari craton generally, it is also noted that Kopore dumped their not inconsiderable Trans Kalahari Copper Ltd tenements for a song last year. Sandfire picked up the lot for (I think) $1m cash plus a similar sum in shares. We are parting with far higher sums for two small parcels possibly on the strength of Zone 5's Cu/Ag deep mine shortly due to come on stream.

As things stand are we to interpret Nick's stance as unrepentant and Casa settlement as stalled?

It becomes more sophisticated each year. A 20-year old Kent lad demonstrated how it is done. Very complicated for me as I have yet to invent the wheel.

No big deal on the point but Ernest, Harry and Nicky would bristle under the slight (as in insult) if they could. Added to which I think Nicky still has Berkshire and London acreage. The two Nicholases will know each other very well.

It was Ernest Oppenheimer, a German immigrant, who founded Anglo=American Corp Johannesburg in 1917-18. Harry succeeded him. The Oppenheimers and the Ruperts were very bid S African names.

Furthermore they are not going to throw Nick under a bus. NvS was senior management at one time and the mining houses on the Reef have a tradition to preserve.

Even if the rains eventually arrive very late - quite possibly well beyond the rainy season - at least get one drilling rig with its crew onsite. La Niña is not going to go away in a hurry. SP could soon be telling us he can't get the drilling trucks in which is going to do wonders for the SP.
