I decided this morning's grenade was caused by Casa delay (?default) and -
a) the company has been on the Botswana road for some time;
b) the two defunct Cu mines are well outside the footprint;
c) the Alvis opportunity was sudden;
d) Kopore have a dozen more fallow licence; and
e) Zamsort "stake increase" possibility had been overlooked.

". . . net proceeds of the Placing will be used for working capital; to fund extra deep drilling at the Company's projects of Cheyeza and Muswema; for a potential Zamsort stake increase, subject to negotiations; and to fund data acquisition and drilling in Botswana if the acquisition set out in the Announcement completes".

Even if today's setback is temporary management has to be chastised for not making adequate provision for a Botswana entry. The 1,000 km band has been on mining radar for two years.

Looks very much to be the case. As a result I have shelved ideas of buying KAV.

NvS knows his backyard. If he can hang in and tolerate SA life in Sandton, Jhb, forward planning for the company is paramount. And some of you might be correct . . . Zamsort/Zaco is done and dusted.

Wrote an earlier paragraph on Kalahari craton but it hasn't appeared.

Others may disagree but from what little I know Botswana has been a backwater ever since Seretse Khama's time. It's only attraction and/or interests were Okavango and diamonds. There's a very strong copper footprint there . . . be interesting to learn if any of it is an extension of the Roan group.

Maybe it's time to ask if some of you have been correct in saying Anglo will swallow up assets at the Kabompo Dome. If so, NvS is going to be twiddling his thumbs with very little left on his plate at Arc.

Unfortunately it has very much to do with Shanta. EZ, if he proceeds at Bushiangala/Isulu, will have to employ a heavy guard detail around the site. He knows exactly what he is doing in preparation for a mine: he will have to use KK as indications might be that Nairobi is not going to satisfy any security issues.

Perhaps a few months in one or more African countries will change your mind.

Coincidentally I spent several hours studying the Kalahari craton and last night asked a question on KAV. Links included -

Among the findings there are indications of strong mineralisation at 1,200+ m at Khoemacau, Zone 5. Instead of taking up Kavango stock as planned this morning further study has to be given to ARCM's proposition. In terms of previous ops in Botswana's infant copper industry, all that I know is the only two small miners have failed or are in the process of being wound up. Perhaps they are/were in the area of ARCM's latest plan.

The map diagram in the above link shows a strong band leading across to Otavi/Tsumeb, Namibia. NvS will certainly be conversant with the Namibia history and I have wondered why he bypassed a known opportunity there.

Does anyone perchance have map coordinates for KAV license areas?
Shall be doing a desktop study of Okavango tomorrow.
I know Namibian copper deposits well together with Zambian belt.
Have taken up ARCM stock but the Kalahari craton in Botswana is new territory.
