If relevant my decision was taken a while back, i.e. reduced a modest holding @ circa 3.60p and retained the balance. My Oz geologist acquaintance, who knows Gunpowder and Mt Oxide, unsettled me when he dumped all of his stake substituting it for an Au startup in WA. I think he was miffed with the Cangai ****up.

Chilean withdrawal suggested (to me anyway) that the BoD such as it is are not really hands-on and none of them have mine engineering credentials. The Zambian thread has possibilities but sitting in Perth or wherever is not exactly being on the job. Zambia is an unforgiving jurisdiction. If there is no one on the ground the very least requirement is to have a heavy hitter in, say, Sandton, Jhb.

Someone like Apro may offer better balance. He has certainly examined the Roan group, Domes, Solwezi, etc and is a fairer critic than I.

Acknowledged. I got it wrong. So, effectively, there are three delivery strands via river barge. Whereas for some reason I had understood there was a pipe to ONP from the field after seeing a short video simulation.

It became slightly more confused when the agreement with ONP was a 10k daily target whereas average daily throughput has been ~7,500 barrels. Would this therefore be the Saramuro link only? (Otherwise I certainly agree a zero entry will regularly appear.) Combined with Iquitos and Manaus the total transfers accordingly comply with the present expectation of 11k bopd.

Notwithstanding Libre politics the SP drift hardly makes any sense.

My time with microscopic examination is limited owing to business routine. Occasionally I might spot other opportunities without pursuing them. One such example was the JSE hint. I note following an acquisition the stock jumped 15+%. PTAL remains very subdued and some major news is required . . . be it the new horizontal, workover success with #4, completion of reinjection well, installation upgrade, Osheki progress or a mooted acquisition.

Hopefully optimistic.

Having had another look my conclusion is ONP represents the worst tripwire hazard to Petrotal possibly bigger than other in-country risks. The litany of breakdowns in the pipeline are many . . . begin to wonder if reporting gaps are mostly semi-daily pumpstation, etc issues. The spills are alarming. Also, Iquitos refinery capacity limitations will impact that route.

I'll go through ONP again at some point . . . am never sure by the string of fractures and substation breakdowns. In fact, I don't give it proper attention because of known defects.

In sum it wouldn't surprise me if MZ develops the Ucayali/Amazon/Manaus chain . . . although none too sure that Novum may try to get him over a barrel with tariffs.

@ 19:22 - Whilst I am a believer in the Kalahari craton (Botswana) and the Roan formation (Domes/Zambia) for copper finds, NvS has not covered himself in glory this year. He tripped up badly on Casa gold sale proceeds and lost some credibility by introducing a cash call after assuring all bases were covered.

Shanta remains a better prospect in its three greenstone belts. We have to anticipate a near doubling of indicated reserves at Lupa and Singida. And with little drilling completed to date in the Bushi/Isulu vicinity further encouraging grades will materialise.

The resulting end-year SP is an unknown because we have been caught short by drip-feeding instis. The phenomenon will end at some point: it won't come soon enough for the funds that loaded up between 16.50p and 19.50p.

In the meantime, if Samia plays ball and pushes her finance department for some form of VAT relief/offset, you can anticipate EZ becoming quite upbeat on several counts. The wait, of course, is testing.

Having had the good fortune to live in clean air for 30+ years the odours on return here were quite marked. I really hope EQT can be fast-tracked for everyone's benefit even if subsidies are required to get countrywide sites up and running.

Nothing useful to add other than to note an inspection of the Manaus terminal and the size of tankers trekking 1,000 miles upstream. Hadn't really noted their capacity until now. The town itself is 120 feet above sea level which indicates a gentle flow to the Atlantic.

With ONP throughput averaging ~7.5k barrels/day I presume it's the limit until a pipeline upgrade is completed and Iquitos capacity is increased. Also have been trying to calculate if Novum is increasing barge rates.

Intrigued by the information and relatively new tech. As it has much to do with tectonic plates would be interested if the science can be effectively applied to the triple Mbeya Junction (Rift)(NLGM). Evidently there are substantial drilling cost savings with the methodology.

Although there are jurisdictional headwinds - nothing new there - had a browse last night on comparable producers. The one to stand out most was JSE (~59/60p). If anything, PTAL has a lot more going for it. An acquisition(s), too, lies ahead with a near-term doubling of output. Yet we languish @ 17p with possibly greater profit margins. (AIM reasoning from private investors invariably makes little sense.)

Looking to the remainder of the year alongside the Yucalayi with further onsite infrastructure near completion I assume 200k barge barrels will continue @ market price. Have always understood ONP throughput has limitations which will persist.

The next company advisory could be revealing.

Thanks, Sturm, and am largely in step with your sentiments. I rate four stocks held as having good potential of which PTAL is one. Nothing is guaranteed, of course. To be safe I am shortly about to go off and earn a crust of bread for the day. Good to have the longer hours of daylight.
