How can India manage a pure gprs solution for 4 million smart meters when the UK can only manage a 75% GPRS, 20% RF, and 5% Unknown !

Hi Tony.

Read pages 24 -27 as explains more. There will be around 5% of meters that dual band will not be able to connect. They will need someone to come join with a solution. The good news is that they confirm that 25% ALL property's will be fitted with a dual band.....I wonder if CC are working on the final 5% solution!

The document did mot say duel hubs will not be used but if they are unable to connect then an alternative is being looked at. My understanding was CC was the alternative in the south...so I'm wondering what are the numbers for the new device.....must be significant, I guess.

What's strange is it's referring to a further solution if duel hub meters can't connect. It's ts all very recent!

Anyone knows what this article is about. The contract only given in June 2019 to provide a Alternative HAN for meters that single and duel hub meters unable to connect.

Any news of new contracts better have more details regarding when income is expected from them ..otherwise will be treated as another Iran etc etc.... it will be interesting to see what CC come up with this time.

If CC expecting to announce a contract win this month or the next ...the tender must be out there...I'm assuming, of course it's going to be a new win, in India and not an add on from a previous order. We should be able to identify the likely oppurtunitys ...thanks for your info. Vas

If big contract expected soon, I'm trying to guess where it could possibly come from....Another rf tender in India from six months ago....not sure what the outcome was , if any.

Most buying today is peeps gambling a few hundred quid ..in the hope of a 5-10 bagger if sp ever gets near the 4-5 p mark on a buyout. No one taking a long term view anymore.....
Looks like to BODs really underestimated the amount of work and expense to get this drug through a phase 3 trial that the FDA would take seriously.

Just to add some perspective relating to the timeline of the Iranian smart meter rollout....im not sure what year it will begin in earnest 2019, 2020, 21...,but its 1397 in Iran!

Tony have you seen this discussion board. I have posted the link to the first page of board which was six months ago but the newer pages are more recent posts....page two gas a lot of discussion about rf mesh with Toshiba and may be of interest . There is also some dscussion around not spots in the north contract and how North and Scotland on different frequency to South etc etc,

The question about the need for multiple as opposed to single mesh nodes being deployed is also mentioned ....it seems that in some circumstances several perfectly fine houses with perfectly fine connected meters will be given dual hub with mesh ...so to enable the one house in the valley to hop and communicate via these extra mesh nodes to a suitable place allowing a connection to the DCC.
