Interesting point but I'd have thought Walmart can at any point sign a ex UK deal with Ocado in the countries Ocado don't have existing country specific deals (Canada, Sweden, France) As the amount of country exclusive deals grows the less Walmart would be interested in signing a deal?

Ocado's agreement with Morrison's would not allow a tie up with Sainsbury's/ Asda / Tesco. Re grocery only further tie ups with second tier UK grocery retailers can happen, MnS, Coop etc. True?

However their 2 biggest food suppliers/contracts are the very ones that will be squeezed most by this Asda/Sainsbury's deal. Waitrose and Morrison's goods will surely suffer from lack of pricing power. Merger has to hurt Ocado however new contracts should come. Retailers around the world will even more be realising the increasingly changing nature of grocery shopping. A regional exclusive contract with Ocado is a way to stay at the cutting edge without the associated financial outlay, as Sobeys have done.

Would you say this now leaves Ocado a little exposed. Small player amongst big fish? Who would takeover Ocado?

Casino and Amazon signed a deal yesterday so Amazon takes care of quick delivery small basket size goods for them. Casino says deal is complementary to their large basket size Ocado deal already in place. Seems to now mirror the Morrison's Ocado/Amazon contracts. Must be an endorsement of Ocado as they are clearly the online grocery logistics pick for large basket size online shopping. Casino would have looked over Amazon before signing in with Ocado When working with the same customer will Amazon nibble at Ocado's tech? Amazon takeover of Ocado looks a bit more likely now IMO. Still a slim chance if it though Anyone any thoughts? What does this new deal pattern reveal?
