Interesting chilting/rocka999. Amazon's move should further encourage global grocery retailers to seek the best solution to combat them online. Ocado's tech still looks by some way the best in class solution since it is incredibly efficient (least human handling, least food waste, largest range of goods) and crucially profitable rather than store pick which incurs a loss per delivery by a retailer.
Re the moves recently towards subscription model grocery delivery. If we look way into the future I can see that just a few subscription grocery delivery models will take the lions share of the market. Ocado's tech will be at the heart of one of the winning models. Possibly though the tech will be bought out by a rival. In the race for online grocery dominance Ocado are increasingly looking like a key asset.
