Ocado MKS retail partnership is important to both, agreed. However the failings in the rest of MKS's business are no concern to Ocado. These will be addressed in time at considerable cost by MKS.

It's not a taking on issue. It's just a comparison between 2 companies who over the last few months have experienced radically different fortunes. Pure online retail versus bricks n mortar plus online retail. Let's see how the comparison continues...

The comparison re the merits of investing in Ocado or MKS were first discussed on this board on July 6th. We agreed then to revisit the comparison in October. The prices for comparison taken on that day were Ocado 2000p, MKS 100p.

As of now Ocado are over 24% up, MKS 11.5% up. Let's see how the comparison continues....

I sleep very well. Management til now have done extraordinarily well. Gives faith for the future. 700% growth in SP in 4 years. Online grocery market is only just opening up. Huge growth ahead around the world. Then Ocado can use their robotics to expand into other areas.

You're making a rookie mistake here.

Analyst price targets are their thoughts on where the price target will be. Some are correct, many are just hot air. The overridingly important price is what the market believes a company is worth ie the current share price. That price is more insightful than all the analyst predictions.

You can dig up all the analyst prices you want on a share but they are never any guarantee that a share will rise or fall. So much rather having a high share price on my stock than having a low one but all the analysts telling me it should be higher.

Latest analyst price doubled to 2,900p so they are catching up.

Aside from Neil's grumblings Ocado are very interestingly poised at the moment. So many possible directions to take, new contracts to be signed. Edge of your seat stuff!

Like you Treacle, as a customer and investor in Ocado, I have great faith in the company, it's product and it's leadership.

There will be a point when all the future growth is priced into this share. Not there yet though I believe....

Ocado and MKS's venture won't fail. What is failing is the grocery store model. Massive, massive shift online. MKS grasped a get out of jail card by buying into Ocado retail just in time after ignoring selling their food online for so many years.

This gives MKS hope but it doesn't resolve the deep issues elsewhere in its business. Until these problems are addressed in an escalated manner MKS will continue to underperform pure online operators such as Ocado.

If MKS failed then MKS would sell their holding of Ocado retail to someone and Ocado would move on. If Ocado failed then it would be near fatal for MKS. Ocado is a £19 bill company, MKS £2bill. Ocado has bigger customers than MKS, ie Kroger, Aeon.

MKS stores continue underperformance. MKS + Ocado venture a great success. MKS close huge swathes of stores to focus more online. MKS invest more in Ocado partnership, eventually offer to buy out Ocado's side of the 50/50 venture.

MKS + Ocado will be a success. The other side of MKS's business though will flounder and underperform. MKS will need Ocado more than ever going forward....

Last broker analyst price for Ocado was a doubling of their previous one, citigroup 2,900p v 1,450p. Ocado MKS will be a success. Huge ball and chain for MKS is it's bloated 1,400+ store network.

Ocado have doubled MKS's performance over the last month or so when the comparison between the two was first raised on this board.

Virus resurgence. MKS has over 1,400 stores. Huge move towards work from home smashing footfall in key MKS locations, city centres, high streets etc. Not hard to work out why it's underperforming....

Pure online outperforming high street retailers by a mile.
