The discipline with Ocado shares is to buy and then hold long term. So many daily highs and lows one could fret about. Key here is this is a fantastic company/management team leading a exponentially expanding industry. Hold on and enjoy the ride. Much more to come....

Great trading statement. Understandably modest share price rise. Much of news was already known. Onwards and upwards.

I'll go for day end 1715. Would prefer you to be correct. Board have got to try and justify their £88mill long term bonus payday so I expect the update to be impressive. Especially as they have volunteered tomorrow's trading update. It wasn't on their financial year release calendar until very recently.

That's an uncrossing trade, ignore that one. Could be a wild day tomorrow. I'll stick my head out and say it will be a mildly upwards price increase on the day, 2%. Lots of good news already built into the current share price. Any other guesses?

Thanks for the short update Rocka. Ocado is becoming a key holding in these times. I recently saw it, incredibly, referred to as a defensive stock. Before the pandemic some questioned whether online grocery would be the future. This doubt has evaporated and it now obviously is the future. So much so that it's a defensive position to invest in the company and a risky position to go against it.

Long term holder. Not looking at selling in the short term. Management doing a fantastic job rising to the challenges of the fire and the virus. Results wise they keep on delivering. Future looks very bright.

We've been able to book an Ocado slot next week and week after. Have had Ocado deliveries regularly til now. Sometimes had Asda deliveries. Way more substitutions at Asda and quality of service far lower than Ocado. Still firmly of the opinion the UK population and those all around the world will be calling out increasingly for premium quality grocery delivery service now and in the future. The heads of shoppers, that were ambivalent to online grocery before, are increasingly being turned.

Across the world this pandemic has led to more demand for online grocery shopping. There will be stickiness to this demand so more will shift to online from store grocery shopping. An analyst has outlined that the pandemic has brought forward the evolution of online grocery by 5 years for example. Ocado is the world leader in online grocery solutions. This business is far harder than delivering other goods as Amazon and ASOS do. Short shelf life, fragile items, temperature control etc pose problems. Notoriously difficult to master.

I expect Ocados existing customers will deepen their partnership with Ocado and new lucrative partnerships to emerge. The warehouse fire was a big learning point for the company and a huge stress test. Ocado emerged stronger. The pandemic experience will lead to a further valuable evolution.

There have and will always be shorters. They have though been burnt regularly on a rotisserie of flames thus far.

Luke Jensen appointed as non exec director at Asos is definitely an interesting appointment. Ocado are already in partnership with Marks n Spencer, aren't they a direct competitor of Asos? Hasn't Luke already got enough on his plate running a multinational tech logistics online grocery solutions business? Or is there something else at play here?

Encouraging to see shorts still hanging around this share. Continually underestimating and misunderstanding the company and its potential. Whilst they are there, and as they unwind their positions, they will help propel the share price upwards as more contract wins come in for Ocado.

Hopefully Ocado partnership is reported as going full steam ahead by Kroger tomorrow. If Kroger are applying the brakes a little and planning to open less CFCs then it will hit Ocado shares. Fingers crossed for upside tomorrow. Given recent Ocado director selling and the downtrend in the share price I am wary.

Peel Hunt are now even more positive than before. Ocado are not simply offering grocery companies a way to combat Amazon.They are offering a best in class product. When you lead in hyper complex grocery robotics and logistics then new horizons are sure to open up in other sectors. High share price - yes - for a very good reason. Further to go - yes.
