Ocado's CFC online grocery solution is profitable, super efficient and scalable. Tesco's online solutions are scalable but significantly less profitable. Other supermarkets throw store pickers and grab market share from Ocado currently but it's not profitable for them.
Tesco share price at start of pandemic in March 220p, now it is 208p. This is after Tesco has massively ramped up online and click and collect capacity.
Countless supermarket groups around the world are currently looking how to solve and improve their online capacity so it is profitable. Ocado's solutions deliver that. This is why it's so valuable as a company. It is significantly ahead of others capabilities.
The tech is amazing now. Can you imagine how good their tech will be in 5 years time? Their solutions will be far, far more efficient and profitable then compared to human store pick models
