If I was being cynical, I would say that the experts in the US were looking to discredit the low cost, easier to handle alternative to the Pfizer vacine. They had some valid criticisms but not sufficient to discredit the effectiveness of the Oxford vacine. Oxford also made clear that these were interim results only with more data to follow.
