Ironhide - re stock being loaned out, it is quite common practice with II's. For example, UCITS funds that hold large positions without any intention of selling may loan out a portion of the holding in return for a fixed fee. They usually take alterative stock as collateral but that won't show up in the portfolio. It allows the fund to generate additional income without much risk.
I'm not sure how common it is for PI's. I know that my broker (HL) doesn't loan from the nominee account, and if you're holding certificates yourself then that stock can't be loaned.
