Excellent posts guys/gals. as ever it puts my posts to shame. I will not be posti further this evening as taken on board banburyboys comments and fwiw i will this year make sure that i stick to my new years resolution. i.e not posting after a vino or two.To me it is down to the solicitors and tax advisors to make sure we all benefit going forward.

all double dutch to me. hopefully hmg have missed something and Serica have not.
as we are all aware the market will decide in the end.everything crossed for me

your analysis needs to be put out to the wider market. i.e institional investors, our so called broker and all pi investors as this needs to be adressed by bod. inmv.

newkotb.. i think they are viewing the tax write offs as a huge bonus. hopefully this will prove the case and will transpire in our share price.

Visitor. I wish you would post more often as Newkotb and some other lth add considerable value here. Sericas marketing together with their broker support has been dire to say the least. Hopefully at least one person working within those divisions will have an individual thought process and will take these and other comments on board.

north eig together with bkr three coming on line was a gravy train. i did post this many times in the past. thats where the money has gone . paying inlated prices and a slow drill. must be some kind of old boy neywork within the o and g industry. fwiw still holding and added a few as they dis say dividend policy will stay and who knows this could be a new journey for us.

just to add though. maybe everything will become clearer when the offer document goes out. After all there are some institional holders involved here.

inclined to agree Newkotb and with Visitors excellent posts. Fwiw i will be voting it down if we get a chance to do so, As you have posted too many shares given away on this. Had our price been higher then an excellent deal,but as highlighted many un ananswered questions atm

I cannot add anything to your anaysis, Apart from as a country we are and have been dealing with the most inept gvnmt in a generation inmho. If serica has found a way to circamnavigate then all the better. As for hmg tax advisors and solicitors well need i say more. I would not be surprised if they will be forced to reverse all the damaging effect they have caused during the past few months. Let alone years. Maybe the GLP could take this up.

Maybe as they will now own a third of the combined group they will do some kind of re listing or a combined deal involving an overseas company in the future. Inmv these tax credits are the key here.

Maybe their accountant found something that was missed and may even be able to do the same with Sericas accounts.

They probably had a good tax advisor. So hopefully the same advisor will benefit Serica in some way

fwiw i am optimistic that this could end up a blessing in disguise due to Mercuria contacts and that they are an energy trader.I am sure people are aware but there are some good press articles today which are worth a read inmo

Agree Newkotb. On the face of it ,it does sound a little bit hypocrytical . To me this sounds more like a merger than an outright takeover. Maybe they have been clever and have worked out that this could result in less tax being paid going forward. There is also the possibility that the combined group has some mega deal lined going forward. Also this is not a done and dusted deal as this could still be voted down in some way. This reminds me as to where i was with btg when they seemed to overpay for an asset, but the plus side was that the share sooned recovered,

They also said that the dividend policy will remain. The combined group should also give them extra fire power to go for latger deals which will hopefully be overseas.It may also attract further institional investors inmv.

Thats it then. Hopefully we can now look forward to ten percent yield going forward for a few years tand then cash returned to share holders in say five years time when the fields are depleted.Personally i will setle for that.

I hope this is not their way of intimating that they are interested in the new licencing rounds. If they do go after these then I would hope the cost of acquiring them as well as all development can be mostly written off.
