I agree Henry that the comment about India was the one that stood out for me as well. There is a distinct change in tone there from previous updates on India, which they didn’t have to do. Also news on finalisation of testing and certification of d2w in India was recently indicated by SYM to be around now. d2p sales potential is also significant in India. Let’s hope SYM India is fully ready to go of approvals are indeed imminent.

What are they up to? Either the distributors and other info are pointing towards an uplift in sales in which case it’s an RNS if considered a material uplift. Otherwise, if it’s not then why issue this? What could be MLs objective with issuing this Reach notification? Any ideas?

Sym have been warming up to this inflection point for some time now and CEO and one large shareholder have continued to buy. We also have quantum as a new significant shareholder in at 20p (with ongoing discussions).

Just need three or four of the key imminent pieces of news flow to get over the line and it should be a good basis for future growth and a share price rerate.

A simple way of looking at is that there are 6 key product areas and 4 major key geographies. So that makes 24 product/geography pairs. If we assume a modest £2m in annual sales from each then that’s £24m odd of sales. (I’m not including UK, EU or Africa in any of this). It seems very achievable in theory. But in practice has been very difficult to work towards so far.

As always it’s quite easy to get optimistic Shatter. Reading the last couple of results announcements again and we have:

Saudi d2w sales ramping up

Nbr end stage trials and some orders from Canada, UAE, Saudi and Peru. 3 trial orders secured in these regions

D2p flame retar dant sales and product final certification imminent

D2p initial sales in fragrance product Asian white goods manufacturer.

India final certification of d2w

Bread packaging testing in 8 territories

And a few smaller or earlier stage opportunities

It has to happen in 2026. 😬

To think that I first invested in SYM around 20 years ago, it’s a stark moment of reflection realising that glaciers have covered more ground than SYM (albeit uphill) over this time.

However, the company have never had so much product and end market readiness. Im sure we’ll see some of this potential come through next year. Whether they have enough sales growth in calendar H1 to repay the convertible loan is up for debate. Unlikely I would think but happy to stick around and see.

But if you have time and patience then this share price right now is very attractive. There will likely be consolidation of the Indian gas sector in the years ahead and so Indus could reward multiple times over from here IF you are happy to lock your money up in a private unlisted entity with zero liquidity. No guarantees obviously but a few quid in now might pay out very nicely in a few years time.

Nice to see Elie Dangoor increasing his holding. Major shareholders get better access to company management and get opportunities to doscuss the outlook for SYM in more detail than small holders. And they obviously continue to see a good outlook not reflected yet in the share price. Canadian news also a positive although doesn’t necessarily translate into any sales for SYM. Didn’t expect this flurry of RNSs so close to Christmas but they have been quite positive so can’t complain.

Yes, one less reason to be cheerful…definitely not anywhere near cash break even now!

Faint glimmer of hope from potential scale of Saudi market in the Dec month part of the sales update but no one will be using this as any crumb of comfort given track record. But by end of Q1 next year it might be a nice positive.

Share price held up so far…maybe everyone out on their office Christmas lunch and haven’t noticed the RNS yet.

Sticking my neck out a little and saying merry Christmas now to all here on this chat. I don’t think any transformative news from SYM is coming this year so it’s over to Q1 2026.

Worth reflecting that despite the frustration of endless board promises of a step shift in sales and nothing happening, this year we have seen:

- share price up from 2.9p to 7.5p

- new finance raised at 20p

- CEO buying

- positive independent study findings on d2w

- extension of convertible debt timeline to June 2026

- cash break even (maybe just possibly!)

- and a full hopper of products and potential markets

All reasons to be cheerful!

We’ve hardly had any trading here for weeks and we are moving into the quietest period for UK stock markets, so why the 50k block seller has returns right now to drive the price quickly down against themselves is beyond me. Raising funds for turkey and crackers?

It’s also slightly frustrating that SYM keeping highlighting that the shares are too cheap ( in this instance it’s stating a reluctance to issue more shares in debt conversion) but then dont give the market anything to go on in terms of positive surprises to sales and earnings forecasts. Deliver the goods Mr Laurier and the share price will rise.

Agreed that it is good news but in order to pay off this debt with rolled up interest due SYM are going to need somewhere in the region of £3m to £4m in additional sales by June. And more likely by end of March as invoices may not be paid for 90 days. That’s a 50% uplift on existing sales in half a year or less. I read the statement as company preferring to convert but want to do so at a higher share price but I suspect we get a partial conversion at least given SYMs track record on sales growth. Just thoughts

24 trading days left until year end. Maybe like an advent calendar SYM will have a positive surprise behind the metaphorical door of each new trading day.

On a more serious note there isn’t long to get the average share price up now in case the convertible loan isn’t extended and has to be repaid in shares. Not sure that SYM is generating enough cash to repay the debt from available cash resources.

Must be some progress on new sales by now though! Beggars belief if not one single new opportunity hasn’t come in yet.

Keep in mind that DN has secured the IP and assets in return for first tranche so not completely without other consideration. Agree though that there should be some positive developments soon. The company stated as much when they announced the highly dilutive share issue. Worth having a read back over that. Inflection point for sales implied so assuming the little funding airpocket over last few weeks hasn’t derailed sales momentum then we should get some steady positive newsflow IMO.

Many thanks Lionel. That is a very succinct and useful summary of where things were at with GDR. If accurate it does really raise a question as to why an industry partner has not come in with funding for a stake and why the bod haven’t loaded up too though. Suspect the bod haven’t tried all that hard in the past to figure out a way to secure funds to break even. Hopefully now they will with feet held to the fire. I wonder how many wealthy individuals gdr have approached about strategic investment?

The time taken to agree terms of a £1m loan has been quite long so I’m assuming that discussions are also around pathway to establishing further funding in Q2 2026 as well as maybe more strategic and operational aspects - which would take longer to agree.

Let’s hope they are progressing well though as I also agree with previous post here that it’s unlikely GdR are taking orders while this uncertainty persists. DN, board, employees and other shareholders are all broadly aligned here in terms of outcome from discussions so let’s hope that egos dont get in the way of progress.

Thanks both. Interesting perspective. I think that India’s regulatory framework for biodegradable plastics is governed by other Indian Standards (e.g. BIS, IS/ISO 17088:2008) and rules under the Plastic Waste Management though. Might be wrong and I don’t know to what degree success testing to ISO 24187 would affect decision making for approving biodegradable plastics. What we do know is that bureaucratic processes in India are very slow and when we do get approval we’ll get a clear RNS stating that.
