New Poster25 May 2018 15:55
First time poster and recently new SAV Shareholder (starting picking up stock early May as I saw price starting to rise so felt it was perfect time, then added to it over last week or so as cash flow from existing investments mainly blue chips and UTs allowed). I've very Long term views on the Share Price, primarily as majority of holding is in SIPP so no immediate rush (retirement is 10+ years away), so even though sitting on a nice profit already (>20%)I see no need to take these just to make a quick buck.
History for buying the stock was various but with the ultimate aim of seeking a significant investment return on an element of my SIPP to see about getting earlier retirement/pension. The reasons for choosing SAV was Im very interested in the potential for EVs and companies that will be at the forefront of this possibly near term booming market.
As said already, Im a big believer in the future of EVs, having recently purchased a new Nissan, and see a massive potential for EVs especially as Range Anxiety gets addressed with new full EVs not hybrids doing 150+ miles per charge, this means less then 1% of journeys are above this requirement. Furthermore the places were most journeys are being made are (very) slowly waking upto the benefits of offering EV charging points (i.e Shopping being accounting for about 20% of car journeys).
To add to this I see the likes of FormulaE and the sooner to be launched Electric MotoGP Series generating much interest and losing the stigma attached to these vehicles. Within 5 seasons the FormulaE cars will go from doing 1/2 a race to full race length on a single charge.
OK, based this youd think Id just buy Tesla Stock. However I wanted something that covered more. Was interest in a company that had a piece of the EV action but it wasnt just that.
To me SAV was the ideal stock to meet my 3 main aims, Long Term growth in an alternative stock, involved in the EV market & had a wider portfolio. In addition having a London listing and someone at the helm with a proven history in this area is what attracted me to SAV.
As I say, Im in the for the long term. A mCap of 500m in 2023 = start thinking of bring retirement forward, mCap 700m 2025 = earlier retirement and nice pension, mCap 1,100m 2028 = forget EVs Ill ago and watch the F1 in Monaco.
Thanks for all the great info provided in the chat, look forward to reading and contributing more in the future.
