There was a dispute over some ore that was taken beyond a boundary line around that point in 1858.

I think the mention of mineral extraction from the dewatering at SC was more a case of removing Arsenic etc to make the water safe to discharge. I guess if they can make use of the extracted minerals then that is a bonus.
The water being utilised at UD is from their own shallow test bore and as a separate project they are using the water that is effectively the waste product from GEL whose intention is to pump the water as a source of heat energy. They are on two separate sites on the same industrial estate.

They are taking Lithium Hydroxide but said they can convert to Carbonate if that is where the market is.

CL are looking at two processes.
1) Drilling their own shallow wells (1-2km) with small scale DLE extraction plant. Utilising the geothermal energy to run the plant hopefully making it net zero carbon. They are building their test plant in a shipping container to be easily moveable from site to site.
2) A joint venture with Geothermal Engineering Limited who are drilling much deeper wells (5km). GEL will have primary use of the hot brine for geothermal heating projects/ geothermal electricity production, the 'cooled' brine will then transfer to CL for DLE then returning the water to the ground. They may further process the waters using similar resin extraction of 'contaminants' to provide clean water for industrial use.

As long as they keep the noise down. Moving to Carnkie in the next few weeks.

I went to the CL AGM and site visit. Jeremy Wrathal was saying they were drilling their bore hole trying to avoid known mines and ended up hitting a copper seam accidentally.

Crown Estate has granted CL the rights for Lithium extraction from geothermal waters off the North and South Cornish coasts.

Seemed like a perfectly sensible question. Should the questioner remain ignorant save searching the entire forum for an answer to his musing? The questioner doesn't need to know the vagaries of LSE reporting to be able to invest wisely. Given that the reporting, as per the given explanation, is prone to errors, why would anyone use it as any basis of an investment decision. As has already been said, there is always a counterparty to any trade.

Surely the IIs who are still buying aren't here for the pennies they'll get if the deal goes through. Aren't they looking at the upside if deal is rejected with a still profitable downside if it does go through.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what the Mexicans will think/do if the takeover is unsuccessful. Would they see an opportunity to take control if Ganfeng don't hold all the cards? One would assume Ganfeng are in talks with them.

I'm sure they have their timescales in mind but giving Elonesque predictions help nobody. However, looking "in the coming weeks or months..." is setting yourself up for disappointment in this sector.
