I was responding to a query from John regarding Zinnwald and thought it relevant to mention EMH considering they are mining what is essentially the same deposit. As I said I have no preference of one over the other, there is plenty of demand for them all. I'm not pumping anything at all, just making conversation. I hardly think a comment from me on an internet forum is going to shift the share price
For transparency, I also have holdings in Cornish Lithium, Cornish Metals, Frontier Lithium, Lithium Americas, Compass Minerals, Piedmont, Vale and if you want to count their Nevada holding, Tesla.

I do not disagree with you and am not worried who gets there first, I've spread my bets. However there are some counter arguments.

Someone has to, it may not be SAV but the processing has to be done by somebody downstream.

I don't think there is any opposition from the governments in Germany or Czechia. Although approval processes can be time consuming in Germany as Tesla have found.

As I said, EMH already have a mountain of material (tin mining spoil) already mined and crushed, just waiting to be processed. Similarly, Cornish Lithium and the waste from centuries of china clay mining.

john, I'm in both and EMH 'to boot'. It's difficult to call but my gut feeling is that ZNWD and EMH may develop a joint processing facility. They may then beat SAV into production. EMH also have the possibility of getting into early production using the mountains of waste from previous tin mining at Cinovec. I have no real preference and just hope they all get on with it. Lithium is a bubble (I received a lot of flack on another board for suggesting it) and the more it is delayed, creating a bottleneck in EV production, the more the potential of another chemistry getting produced and taking some of the market.

Strides, not suggesting a few ex-pats are going to sway the government but they are among those stoking up the locals.

I think probably both, John. I doubt the Mexicans have a good deal of experience in processing Lithium for battery production and would be looking for a partner, the 'sabre rattling' might frighten the Chinese into agreeing a good deal. If they can deliver large royalties to the population it will be a major political victory. Even so I think our return would have been severely diluted. Having been in BCN for a significant time and with a significant holding (for me anyway) I was seething about the takeover but as you say , we may have dodged a bullet.

Mick, hopefully SAV is involved in bidding for further licences. One processing facility shared between two or more mines will spread the cost.

Yes, a group of farmers and ex-pat landowners (I believe one of the main protagonists is British) could stop this project in its tracks. Luckily the government is positive abut the mining so it's hopefully unlikely. Looking at what is now potentially going to happen to Ganfeng with the Bacanora Project in Mexico, you can't blame 'buyers' keeping their hands in their pocket until the propect is more concrete.

Investment at this stage is speculation.

If you take a look at any Lithium price chart you will see that the price Lithium went into a huge decline around that time after a 'false start' for a lithium boom. At subsequent prices no-one was going to shell out to develop a mine. Now with the EV revolution the prices have rocketed with a subsequent re-kindled interest in Lithium mining.

Jeremy Wrathal brought up that copper strike at CL's recent open day. He was saying that they had planned the drill 'route' to avoid the labyrinth of known mines in the are and by chance hit the rich seam of copper.

The UK has not been ruled out by Tesla for a factory, the choice of Germany over the UK was due to uncertainty around Brexit. If they do decide to manufacture cars in the UK it is likely a battery plant will likely come along with it. If it's just a battery plant we still stand in good stead as a supplier.
Britishvolt have to source their raw materials from somewhere so that is still potential for us. Panasonic, Sumsung, CATL, LG, Freyr and Ford have all been looking at the UK, I'm sure others are looking too.

Just twigged it was the same one, we are talking about. I wouldn't have called Bridgewater close to Bristol but I suppose that depends on your scale of reference. It was an old Royal Ordnance factory. The plan is to build a commercial area and technology campus.

The biggest problem currently for battery swap is that there is going to be a battery material supply deficit. Why on earth would you plan a system where you have to have thousands of charged batteries sitting on shelves waiting to be swapped into vehicles.

Jiff, I'm sure the doubters used similar arguments about fuel stations when ICE vehicles appeared on the scene, not to mention the man preceding with the red flag needing a lunch break.

Overnight or workplace charging will be sufficient in the vast majority of cases. On longer trips charging can coincide with comfort/rest breaks. Charge times are already significantly reducing and we already have increased ranges of standard vehicles. Range anxiety will soon be a thing of the past.
