There's a press release on Gov.uk. Innova are at stage 4 of evaluation. Another 3, unnamed are at stage 3. 6 were in the running. No proper information. So ended up being a bit of a mystery.

Twatcher, can you read mate? Read the Abingdon report which ODX have included in the link. They have taken the BMJ report apart. They are saying the ABC19 test measures the significant antibody which denotes immunity not past infection. This suggests this test will distinguish between those who are showing definite immunity and those who have had it but are not showing that active immunity. That's what you will need to establish eligibility for a freedom pass surely?
I don't think the Guardian journalists include in this report are necessarily clever enough for writing about science.

I noticed Abingdon are tweeting about an app. They are talking about contact tracing apps on the news now. If you can send a copy of your results readout then we'll have total lift off.
We all need to complain to the Guardian.
Maybe just send a copy of Abingdon's response- it's much more detailed and credible sounding than ODX's response. And Twitter are sharing a response from Oxford university which says the test has passed extensive evaluations and will be an important part of the fight against the virus. Sir John Bell and the DHSC are quoted.

Maybe the additional discrepancy using Roche tests as the template is that Roche only had 84% sensitivity. That stat came out ages ago. We were all surprised that they carried on buying them but they did. Yes, lots of scrutiny needed here.

It's odd that the article is still banging out the view that immunity and antibodies aren't related. This has been seriously debunked now- in other articles and blogs from learned professors, the Guardian has detailed the link between antibodies and immunity. We are banking on a vaccine that relies on a link between antibodies and immunity ffs.
Yeah, someone thinks they are a hero and can't see the truth for the light they are blinded by!
Anyway, either the government refute this interpretation or ODX reputation and credibility is on the line.
Really hoping we get some good news from Mologic soon. At this stage I won't be surprised to see something fantastic about Mologic's antigen lft - who is buying twice as many shares as there are sells at a time like this? Some really huge buys too.

I don't think you are looking at it simplistic. It looks more like the Guardian have been simplistic. They seem to have decided to over interpret the findings- saying 84% specificity when it seems the BMJ are saying 97.2-98.4%.
So a massive error on the Guardian's part? Or is someone being very mischievous. Maybe that's why there's 7.5million buys today vs 3.5 million sells. Big shame because they are only hurting ordinary people. I am cancelling my subscription if they have exaggerated this and they don't apologise. My mate who I gave a tip to, sold this morning at a loss of £2k. She was kinda relying on a profit in these tough times.

Yeah. Results are comparable between the Visitect Omega brand and the RTC. Good question Chuggley. The Visitect brand was arguably better because it measures 3 antibodies and it picks up antibodies earlier.

Well evidently they could be much better. Omega say they stand by the results for the RTC so depends how this saga pans out. Mologic have very high specificity and over 95% sensitivity I think. So yes, if that is confirmed this will become completely irrelevant and we will do very, very well.

Yes of course, the Guardian are making the allegations based on the BMJ report. Heavy duty. Serious allegations from our point of view because following the initial report we were advised by Sir John Bell that it was gold standard. Shouldn't he know about confirmation bias? What was Lord Bethel doing bigging up a test as ripe for commercial and export sales if he knew it was ****? Think about the timeline.
If they have done additional work to examine these issues- they have had enough time- and come to a different conclusion - but the Guardian have not been advised(they do seem to be the brunt of the Tories jokes) then they need to say something.

Not one for conspiracy theories myself. But we have had dumb arse stories leaked to the Guardian before haven't we? There's someone buying humongous amounts at this level.
The Guardian said Abingdon got the contract for £75 million. Interesting because we haven't had that confirmed.
As MB has noted if the PHE commissioned assessment used ROCHE tests at 84% accuracy as the template for PCR then that can'tbetelling us anything. PHE, who are being replaced- not sure what went on there either.
I think some serious explanations are needed from the DHSC. About the RTC test. Is it a good test?
If not, ODX aren't Abingdon so they aren't responsible for the design. If it is we are having a big bounce back.
If not, we will hear about progress with Mologic soon. There's a pandemic in. There aren't many British diagnostics companies. If we are in the running for an antigen lft- this will soon be just a bad day that we got over pretty soon.

They are basically alleging massive disinformation with government collusion. They are saying that PHE commissioned work which found accuracy was less than claimed. And advised government that the evaluation had confirmation bias built in. Sir John Bell, was overseeing that evaluation and told the world they were gold standard.
Then they allowed other evaluations to be leaked showing great results ( Ulster self test assessment). These were leaked to the Telegraph and the Times and the Mail. Lord John Bethell, junior minister for health then tweeted how fabulous the tests were according to the self assessment. All the time, knowing that they were not as described. A lot of reputations at stake here. Not just some Aim CEO taking the ****. This involves Lord Bethel, the DHSC and the RTC. Someone better get their finger out and challenge the central allegation. Pretty soon I would imagine.

The government have known about this report which they commissioned, and then they have withheld it whilst putting out information in the public domain to suggest 99.7% specificity which they knew not to be the case.
In the meantime, there's a global pandemic. The antibody test isn't an Omega branded test. The damage will be limited for that reason. We aren't widely known anyway.
If Mologic get their tests through, no-one will remember this debacle.

We've been badly lied to. Lord Bethel a government minister for health has been tweeting about this consistently. I think they owe us a lot of money.
Aside from this disaster, Mologic have 3 tests. There's a mass testing strategy. I guess that's why there's all this buying.

MB, oh fair enough if the TPP target is 75% sensitivity. Thought the desirable criteria was much higher. Fortress got dumped with over 80%. But as you suggest maybe they are going with the lower standard for now to get the job started. With the PCR double check that will cover the cracks but not very efficient.

Twatcher, thanks for that- clarifying the data in the table. They are very innovative. They are looking at other models (2 in 1 antibody/ antigen test) but they only have the one antibody lft signed off and that is the one that ODX are manufacturing under their own brand yes.

Specificity was 99.4% and sensitivity was over 97% for the antibody Visitect. Not sure CK told us the results for antigen lft. At the last investors presentation he said the results were very positive. Innova seems to be on it's way to approval with 76% sensitivity which falls short of the spec. Bit mad. So because they are first out of the block for the sake of expediency they are going with a product that doesn't meet their own standards. Not sure that's going to work. Where's John Deeks when there's a real issue? This is why they are proposing a double check on PCR for a positive test. They are in some disarray it seems? I guess they are determined to make it happen. When Mologic get it together they will end up taking over.

Innova only has 76% sensitivity. Bit crap that they haven't named all 6. So Mologic have been assessed according to the BMJ report- all of the tests they discuss meet the criteria it says. The table isn't coming out clearly. Will try downloading it again.
Can't believe they said they were making an announcement and they still haven't finished the evaluation. Looks like quite a lot of cooks in the kitchen too! Porton Down and Oxford and PHE.

We don't know though do we? Government have been keeping everything under wraps. Also frustrating for investors. We do know Mologic are having their tests validated in Liverpool by the LSTM and Lord Bethell has just said they have been doing live trials in Liverpool. Could have used Mologic's as part of the Liverpool pilot for all we know. The fact that ODX isn't ready yet is not relevant as long as they are ready to go in December.
