They are ramping up testing. Vaccines need to be checked to see that they have worked with each individual. PCR tests are too slow. Vaccines will be given to everyone eventually. They need a cheap, fast way to check. ODX have two very good lft antibody tests. NCYT announced today that they are starting to develop one. Abingdon health have one. They are listing on Friday. The demand for our 2 antibody lfts and Mologic's antigen test will be off the bloody richter scale. That's why all today's sells are exceeded by buys.

Abingdon Health have explained on Friday last week, that their test measures antibodies that predict whether the vaccine has performed properly (because none of them are 100%) and can indicate 'predictive immunity ' in the context of the vaccine. The NHS advice is not recognising the issue in the context of vaccines. We know that we have a bloody immune system. We don't know how long it lasts but we think it could last years.

Blimey Regulator. Have you read Abingdon Health's response the other day? ABC19 does not measure prior infection. It measures current active immunity.

Radio 4 interview with Moderna. He said you need a test. My assumption was antibody test. Because Abingdon said the test measures whether you have active immunity- through the critical spike which ABC19 measures.

Everyone will need an antibody test to
1. Check that the vaccine has worked (at 90% and 95% efficacy not everyone will be covered)
2. Check that you are not asymptomatic
3. Assess how long immunity lasts
And I notice the Guardian have published an opinion piece from a Professor who says that vaccines and antibody tests like the new ABC19 test ( yes, he namehecked it with a link to a BMJ report September 8th evaluating the test positively). Hi Harryfife, yeah 50% mark-up for government orders for ABC19 to a limited amount according to the agreement. After that a higher rate for commercial or export sales.
If Mologic wins the antigen test for Heathrow- the original other 2 are out of the running prices being bandied about in the papers were a bit silly (£90 retail). Don't think that will happen. But certainly we will be getting a much better price.

£1.50 for the RTC test for government. Higher for retail sales -£13-16 are advertised already by pharma distributors for ABC19. ODX will get between £3-5 for Mologic lfts. They have 5 tests all different prices. The RTC test is at a subsidised cost for government but not commercially. ODX won't get the full retail prices obvs. They are manufacturers.

Which idiots are you talking about Lev? Your post is ludicrous. How is it the fault of positive posters that news of a vaccine sent the sp down? We all knew a vaccine was coming some time. We're still in because we saw a long term role for antibody tests in that context. How could anyone anticipate the **** up about trial results? We saw leaked trial results that exceeded the MHRA specification. It was in the Times, Telegraph and the Mail. All places who are first in line for government leaks.
Now that Abingdon have defended the results and clarified the purpose of the test we have to hope that there is clear explanation of this in the wider public domain asap. If Abingdon have called it right the clarification will come as part of the preparation for the vaccine roll out but we will already be sitting on an RNS for a first order for £75million for the RTC by then.

The last couple of weeks has been crap for all of us. Rome weren't built in a day. We will get our time. This week will be better. Next week should be explosive if Abingdon are being straight with us. I reckon they are.

Luxembourg; Slovakia and now Austria are going for mass testing on the whole population now. The next couple of weeks should be RNS/news dense for ODX.
The Telegraph says that we will have a result on airport testing soon. Only Mologic in the running last time we looked.
MHRA approval will have to come before we roll out vaccines if Abingdon are right and the ABC19 is in line to complement the vaccine roll out.
Some public discourse will have to happen to explain the intended purpose of antibody tests to insure against vaccine efficacy.
Trading update scheduled for November 30th to advise us on Visitect Omega and ABC19 sales. I think going on past precedents we will get an update on how plans and expectations are shaping up too though we might already have a lot in the public domain by then. Let's hope we are headed for a very strong recovery.

That's a bit of confidence- for Ciga to tweet that the demand for the ABC19 test will exceed the demand for the billions of AstraZeneca vaccine worldwide, to ensure the vaccine's efficacy. Ummm. No wonder Pfizer is taking an interest in Mologic! If this is the way they plan to roll out vaccines. Wonder if they will start to form collaborative partnerships (jvs) to make sure they can all hit the ground running? I didn't really plan to invest any more than I already have but this is cause for a rethink.

It's been in tests at Heathrow from August and moved into further trials for CONDOR in Nottinghamshire and it's being validated by Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. ODX and Mologic (who have 40 million capacity) could work. ODX and the RTC with Avacta could work. Do the maths yourself Twatcher.

I see Deeks is now going full on over the Innova contract. It does have only 70% sensitivity but Deeks is saying it will miss 50% of cases. I don't get how the Guardian can actually print that. I mean I get that journalists don't need to be good at maths but really! He's going to end up with egg on his face for sure. Can you be struck off as a statistician? Lol.
More positively government are forging ahead with rapid flow lateral tests. Liverpool said that mass testing has helped them reduce the number of infectious cases from 500 to 300 a day. They are finding everyone including asymptomatic cases and supporting them to isolate. It's giving the city council the confidence to say they will get the virus under control.
And now we know that the RTC tests measures people who have active demonstrable, immunity. Once this lands properly we are going to fly.
So I guess Mologic's antibody test will find everyone who has had it and the RTC test will find everyone with the critical spike to denote immunity. If you used them together you could find out a lot more about how long immunity lasts.
Antibody tests will be used to check that the vaccine is working so they will actually have the longer term value imo.
Been a stressful few days. Only way is up.
