Good find Ozaztec, that tender for REACT studies should have our name on it. Fortress have been stood down on the MHRA ages ago. 30th November deadline. £36 million contract. Delivery from 11th January. We might get a heads up if we have applied on our trading update on 30th November.
We are starting from a lower baseline after the shocks of last week. We can soon bounce right back as soon as we get firm news. This is the chance to load up. Hard not to get despondent but we should be news heavy in the next fortnight.
Expecting:
Mologic results from their trials; MHRA approval; £75million contract with Abingdon's name on it (literally); CE mark and tech transfer for Mologic's antigen lft. And then the odd surprise like today. Hello USA!

ODX and the RTC can easily reposition to prioritise introduced markets.

They will obviously get the EUA if this provision allows them to distribute. Blimey. Looks like the US will get in first. Always a risk if the UK took too long about it.

Still some it's and buts of course (I should do a logic model sometime) but these things will happen and they will affect our investment
1. The UK government say they are building a massive diagnostics industry
2. Lateral flow tests are the next big level of investment within this industry
3. Care homes, hospitals and universities will be first in line for lfts
4. Pilots for whole population testing to find people who are asymptomatic are seen as hugely significant to help government roll out mass testing much further. Finding asymptomatic people was described at the national cv19 briefing tonight as very encouraging- it identified people who would otherwise not have been found and would have continued to spread the virus unwittingly and potentially widely.
5. Vaccines are also seen as the way out of lockdown restrictions. Things could be better by Spring, Summer or next Autumn depending on which expert was interviewed. Notably Pfizer said next Winter.
6. You need a 'blood test ' for which I read an antibody test to check for antibodies to make sure the vaccine has worked because they are only 90-95% effective and to monitor the length of immunity.
7. The UK have bought 100 million AstraZeneca vaccines, 5 million Moderna vaccines and 40 million Pfizer vaccines (though this is only enough for 20 million people because you need 2 doses).
Az vaccines are thought could be available next year. Pfizer could be available from the end of the year. Moderna from the new year. All dependant on passing safety trials which are not complete even in Pfizer's case.
8. Abingdon Health who could be listing soon, say that the AZ vaccine will be rolled out with the ABC19 test.
9. ODX have 5 tests. 3 lft tests which are already in final stages of evaluation according to the company.

ODX CEO is confident that the ABC19 test will be approved and is standing by their results which Sir John Bell, the lead for the whole cv19 scientific development context, says looks like an amazing test. ODX also say Mologic's antigen test is progressing with very encouraging results. ODX has an antibody test with Mologic which is branded with it's own name, Visitect Omega and has been set up for distribution around the world.

Jh2704, capacity has more than doubled since we started investing. So it's really not impossible it could double again. But yeah we aren't a massive multinational. We won't supply the world. 100 million x an average price of say £5 ( some tests will be worth much more depending on whether we are selling to the UK government in line with the agreement or exporting or selling to airlines who will offer a premium rate) is £500 million revenues and about £350m profit. Price earnings x 2 ( arguably conservative) is a mc of £700m. Up nearly 600%.

Q: why have you only ordered 5 million vaccines?
Moderna based on similar principles to Pfizer. Moderna vaccine doesn't come in till Spring. Looked at all vaccine candidates. Range of factors. Committed to 350 million vaccines. Brilliant news that vaccines show we can defeat the virus eventually.
Q: have you got confidence in the OxfordAZ vaccine? Between Pfizer and AZ we have over 100million. Bought 355million vaccines. We don't know if they will work till we assess. Most vaccines are targeting the cv19 antibody spike. So gives confidence on the right track but we don't know till we have assessed.

So I guess we know how they feel- lol. I am wondering if they are holding them off until they get more news from AstraZeneca. About £2.50 per vaccine for AZ vs £38.00 a pop from Moderna. Hmmm x 60 million. Quite some difference. I think they want AZ tests and the RTC tests to check efficacy and track the length of immunity as we go forward to try to assess if immunity wanes for some people and in what circumstances.
