Interesting and positive short read on the position re the young Trent fleet and the likely under appreciated power systems growth. No mention of SMR or Ultrafan which are in the back pocket so to speak.

We all plot our very individual paths to our investment goals, I'm a newbie as I've only been doing this for 7 years come March. Whether we go for all out capital growth or divi's or a mix of both really depends on our personal preference for risk. For divi's I used to be with L&G, great Div but capital growth no, missed a trick with the Aviva purchase of Direct Line as that's bumped the SP in a way it probably wouldn't have moved without, but then we've experienced stunning growth (RR) here over the last year. My investment profile is highish risk, my family don't like it, I'm pretty much S*** or Bust, but I like an element of risk, retirement is looking much better after redundancy in 2017. Some of the disagreements on here bring out some interesting perspectives, it does get too personal at times, something that wouldn't happen over a beer! I'm just going to put this out there, at the end of last month I locked poundf's forecast for January, as I do every month. We've been ahead of that forecast (except the 1st) upto today. Today's poundf guess is actually £12.50 exactly where we were as I started typing. Now I'm hoping the £12.84 forecast for the last day of the month is a touch lite.

It's very odd but then we see the GE results which should auger well for RR in a few weeks?

@LazyHare in 2025 we averaged 6.05% per month (jan - Dec) if replaced that would give us 23:27 by the end of 2026, 4.75% gives us 20:07, though I feel 3.5% gives us a more realistic (maybe) 17:37?

@Troajan The orange one is probably being sensible doubling defence spending with the tech and shipping coming out of China and the coming of the 2nd hopefully Cold War. We in the UK should be doing the same imo, but likely won't for some time, even though Europe is entering Cold War 2. Defence stocks are very much the place to be currently

@LazyHare I would certainly not be as conservative, my 14:00 will I think likely be around H2 results day at this point, but then I 'only' forecast my wants of 20% uplift, so I'm now mid year (H1) we could be around 17 on current trajectory and I don't think I can see beyond that. I've already started to shift in small amounts in ARCI (robotics) which I think will come good over the next few years.

Very interesting and a good sales video, not that it says much about the spec. Can't help but think that a certain Vulcan at Robin Hood would love to trial 4 of them for RR, joking!
