JTS13, they are using a free cash flow for the firm (or equity) measure which is after interest and debt repayments. The RNS clearly states the bond coupon had been paid so you couldn’t mix up the fcf variables in the same report. You have to use one or the other, one being before interest repayments and the other after interest/debt servicing. Both account for capex expenditure, usually on a smoothing basis over the year. Ebitda is a clearer measure but fcf has been used to clearly evidence that pdl can pay down its debt. Trek

If you already have eco and want to move jog profits check out TXP, drilling for gas on a proven play. Could be a transformation result, they are also already a producer with low mcap, £26m. Just waiting for rig which is on a sidetrack atm or there is MATD drilling heron, high cos on same block as a producing field, also soon to drill red deer. So two drills and if heron comes in which is over 70% cos red deer could be a free carry. Both TXP and MATD drills are as near as appraisal drills as you can get but technically categorised as exploration, a split of profits gives you three more drills. Trek, OT, DYOR as usual.

Hi lon, yes debt debt debt, but if you can time an entry into a recovery play that is managing debt such as pdl the returns can be amazing, it’s like a company suddenly getting a few hundred million from out of the blue.. This is a risk play on that and the grown ups here know how difficult it is to time ones entry which is why we have differing strategies including using CFDs to cover positions or averaging in and out. What is your position, one of hindsight which is usually the easiest. Trek.

Nothing miss leading it was a factual observation. I have a considerable albeit derisked holding here but that doesn't mean one should become 'snowblind'. The fact that we are not credited on the map imo is sloppy but it doesn't change the outcomes. Trek, sorry it wasn't interesting for you.

Malay agrees Heron should be an appraisal well. This makes holding Matd very interesting now as one may be tempted to offload ahead of TD but with a 77% cos Trek is letting it all ride and if successful one has already derisked Red Deer which if also comes in, well, unimaginable! Trek strategy, do nothing!

I think ECO will come good I have just taken some risk off for now same as a lot of others in the market have done but Trek has put his hands up. Twitchy sells today. Must confess I offloaded £25k worth. Got Treks rules to follow coz I am such an empathetic, emotional chap with severe AIM lacerations and too much reconstructive surgery!. Since I have become more detached, even from research where necessary (coz I find em) and listen to the market more I'm making sht loads more money. Not always the case that the market rules ok coz I have 1 share that is deaf to all the rules. Anyways I like to share my views on a BB even if I change my mind due to 'operational changes'. My rationale is there is no singing from the roof tops and no leaky volumes (have they still got their phones!) one way or another. I think they have kept this under wraps a treat but I'm joining the few twitchy sales and will willingly average down if it goes **** or average back up if as I hope it's a success. My plan of buying the drill and selling a % before TD looks to have been slightly derailed but I have £25k that is free of risk to add back in and still have a core holding. Anyways it's just sharing my strategy with fellow pi's some of which may not yet have experienced a duster or a gusher yet. Trek, sharing what little knowledge I have of the jungle and fully understand I could be ridiculed Monday. But then I have £25k for the next drill. GLA! Hic!

Earnings positive, interest low, tax offset to capex, debt paying off, amortisation high due to capex. we will soon see some very positive financials, this will drive £1.
