RE: Sunday roast on HELIUM20 Oct 2024 20:02
Couldn’t believe there was an audience of pundits that didn’t know the helium stocks!
The presenter knew his stuff and knew HEX have a pivotal moment in the next few weeks.
Obvious question was what’s the CoS of the HEX drill!
I researched the Mowry Shale drilling and posted some vids on KCI. It’s not conclusive but the odds are dramatically improved with KCI . from AI, I have cross referred 70%.
1. Wellbore Stability: The swelling of clays like montmorillonite and illite that are common in shale formations. This stability reduces the risk of wellbore collapse, allowing for smoother drilling and casing operations, which directly increases success rates.
2. Improved Fluid Dynamics: KCl in the drilling fluid helps to maintain optimal fluid properties. This prevents complications like differential sticking of the drill pipe, which can otherwise delay or disrupt operations.
3. Enhanced Fracturing Efficiency: When the casing process is more stable, subsequent hydraulic fracturing can be more efficient. Introduction of KCl stabilizes the formation around the wellbore, resulting in more effective fractures that improve gas flow and production rates.
4. Reduced Drilling Time: Stable wells mean fewer interruptions, which translates to shorter drilling times.
In areas like the Powder River Basin, these factors combined could push success rates for drilling and casing toward the upper end of the 70% scale, especially in overpressured and thermally mature sections of the Mowry Shale
Usual caveats
