As well as being a long suffering SAE shareholder, I am also a long suffering IES shareholder. I would love for VRFBs to be used, but I think that Strangy is right about the Li Ion batteries. Once VRFB matures hopefully that will be the go to option.

Obviously very subjective and based on personal circumstances, barring anything unexpected, I have the luxury of time. I hope that eventually we get a dividend as Duncan has previously said he would like to do. Mine are all in an ISA. Agree with Pask and mcco, I would make a nice profit at 4p, but it would smart a bit, however I know that this is well below other LTH's averages and I would hope that they at least got their money back.

Absolutely Strangy, the Conservative 'Greenest Government ever' were pathetic, say that they're going to do all of these things and then chuck money at their FF mates. At least it feels like Labour are being more proactive towards greener tech.

My guess is that it is macro events, most trades have been sub £1K (often sub £100) for a while as well.

Hopefully more BESS news will send it in the other direction.

If I had some cash to spare I would.

@Deutscher - They have already raised 30% of their £500K target, so yes people are crowdfunding them.

I've looked into it before but never had the spare cash to do it. I knew someone that swore by P2P lending for ROI and wouldn't touch shares at all.

I agree Kamakiriad, I just got my dividend from L&G, tempted to put it into SAE just to put my holding firmly over 1 million shares instead of just below a mil.

I may be wrong, but didn't they say that they would be operating some if not all of the remaining BESS at Uskmouth themselves?

@Lutra There are 14 objections in the 1st link that OT provided, otherwise I agree with what you said.

Admittedly I have an axe to grind with general NIMBY attitudes (and often hypocrisy) from personal experiences, I haven't read all of them, but this triggered me;

'(2) Battery energy storage is mistakenly promoted as green energy and even generating energy. This is simply not true.

The energy has already been produced by other means.

This energy is bought from the grid when prices are low and sold back when prices are high. in other words a simple trading operation. This method of storing energy is inherently wasteful.'

Yeah, I don't subscribe to FT, sometimes I can read articles, sometimes they're behind the paywall, not sure of the reason.

It's a bigger picture thing that is related, I've seen a few things lately that the NG is being adapted to better suit the renewables and BESS coming on stream. But I can't help thinking that these things should have been done a bit more ahead of time. They're not short of money, given the very decent dividend that is paid out to shareholders (me previously). I believe that your electricity grid over in Germany is much better adapted for renewables Mr. T?
