Imagine you knew the spit test works. You want to get infrastructure in place but can’t mention the test cos it’s commercially sensitive.

Doesn’t really need ai. Two dots on the cartridge, measure pixel colour at specific points, boom you get you result. Handful IF statements and the odd GOTO. ;-)

The upside of Avacta test is you test non symptomatic members off the public. Widescale PCR is not used for that, too slow too expensive.

In areas identified as high risk Eg Skin sewage testing, widescale use of pcr might be worthwhile. Clever pooling of samples means lots of tests can be run in 24 hours (video somewhere on this bb).

PCR will still have a place depending on how good spot test is.

If you have symptoms yes you isolate until you get the result.

If Skin used affimers to make a break through device, would they have to coordinate that with Avacta, sort of a joint press release, or can companies release information on their own, without sign off from the other ? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I know companies tend to, but if one wanted to get news out quickly and the other didn't how does that work according to the rules ?

For us doing an evaluation of future value it is interesting to play with different scenarios. I like the launch scenrio of covid test, revenue coming in, sell diagnostic usage of affimers to specialist (if their agreement allow them too.....) and use the pile of money to fund multiple treatments. Limiting factor is money to fund these projects.

Why build a diagnostic organisation when they already are out there. Covid is special but much more revenue to be had with other tests and affimers have advantages to allow them to compete in existing markets. But the disadvanatage is not organisation to sell them against existing tech, can that be developed at a cost which allows avacta to compete. How would competition respond, price dump, so avacta burn through money (but they will have a lot) Use existing assets of partners/others instead to max profit.
