when tech transfer is done to BBI, does it need to be done again with Abingdon (in parallel). I guess a lot of the issues are sorted in tech transfer, but why would would company share that with another ? what is normal ?

Can tests made in India by a third company use the same certification and tech transfers as BBI? I guess most LFD tests in the past have one developer one manufacturer, but with Covid demand so high and so many involved, normal probably won't be the guideline. Any work in this area who could shed light ? Is it just enough to have a good test process at the end to show same result, but then isn't the setting up a tech transfer ?

It's not like a MacDonalds, where everything is the same, and controlled by one company. Every site/company has own process', training, different machines, different cassettes etc. If consistency and quality is so important and so difficult, won't multiple tech transfers be needed ? How does certification and CE marking work then ?

when I was involved ISO (for software) we needed to have consistency across the chain, one weak link and ISO certificate is lost.

See past this LFD too (which is huge), affirmers seem to be a good replacement for so many reasons to current tech. Accurate, stable, cheap to make. "Shift happens", invest in those driving the shift (insert DV comment ....here).

That said I don't see a long future with Avacta and diagnostics. My own expectation is a TO, split diagnostics out, cash plus royalty. Al has also said end game to industry purchase on a video a while back. Release LFD, worth billions, sell now and invest in Therapies (with a nice fat dividend for us). Or maybe other way around.

You mean a company with UK distribution established years ago, with a UK made trace app, backed by UK public funds. Guess not British enough for you. Why would the government in UK even look at it? Let’s wait, after all, it’s not like there is a massive need.

Avacta timescale is Q1. Wales locking down, north west and midlands hitting crisis. So Einstein what tests would you buy for the next 12 weeks. you think Uk manufacturing can only make UK designed tests. Wow what a world view.

Avacta will hopefully be the better test, no stick up the hooter for a start. The market will still be huge and guess what, it’s not just the Uk.

Most statements indicate multiple tests at different stages. I would hope all tests are getting a good looking at, and nationalism isnt part of the equation.

if I was going to try something new, I'd want to get it right with 1 or 2 other companies first, then once got that nailed take it to more.

Cytiva supply LFD materials all over the world to companies, so I don't think access will be the issue. Project management inside Avacta might be gold dust, plus AL time etc etc. Al said due diligence re quality was an issue, but named SE Asia as target (a few weeks ago when 800 if us small investors turned up for info:-)). Wonder how that DD is done when you cant fly/inspect etc. Cytiva can hopefully supply advice and competence especially as this is a partnership, excellent that they are on board.

We do know that Q4 is when this is meant to be happening(I think that was said, no doubt someone here will double check that:-)). I guess we will know more as we go through the quarter.

Any test that is good enough will fly I think. Tests have always been important but now winter is really coming. First Wave was as we came into spring. Sona close to approval, I hope.

Timings are different, hopefully be able to take big gain in Sona, place it in avacta, place that profit in deep verge and then ..... retire.

The title givesyou a clue. Disclosure I’m invested. Thought as most people have multiple stock strategy this might be of interest. No Sona board and it’s a difficult stock to trade as it’s Canadian.

Also I’ve seen some opinion embedded in multiple pages copied several times on this BB that Sona should be discounted as they are not approved yet and only professional use. The link might help with info. They have Uk distribution established a couple of years ago.

Yeah I think the government involvement with manufacture is interesting. Not sure what it means in terms of real action (underwriting capacity costs?)

Agree that investment potential in avacta is bloody good regardless of who Boris was talking about (I think he was bundling everyone into sane statement).

From his press conference I think Boris was talking about all tests and all timelines.

Demand in UK is huge, globally it’s nuts.

I think anyone involved in any covid diagnostics could feel good about what was said. That it’s “old news” is true but at least the powers that be are openly taking about some detail and route to market is good news for all.
