We shall soon see if that pattern has now been broken or not but it was the only reason why I speculated a pull back. I am not sure what to expect from the AGM tomorrow. One question to raise may well be if the Suriname drill might get suspended. It frees up $30M against losses on sales below breakeven if given up.

Czech cases collapse to just 8 in the country matching Germany, Swiss, and Austria with Covid-19 coming under control. It looks as if the middle of Europe is winning the battle.

Data from South Korea now suggests they have virtually freed themselves from Covid19 cases to very low numbers. Israel data this morning also gets a fall in cases. We are going to see a lot of countries turn the corner soon. We shall find out today if UK is dropping from a plateau or not. If it doesn't it will reflect the failure of PPE available use in areas of the community.

Brazil data was looking good as they are now tracking down in cases from the plateau. It just needs more public patience and real progress is going to be delivered. Many countries will be on a pathway of coming out of lockdowns gradually in May and throughout June. There is light at the end of this awful tunnel. In the meantime certain inefficient shale producers should close for good. The USA market knows that inefficient producers are harming good oil companies.

USA data is broken down into states and their route of lockdown is likely to be similar to that of China. As for Italy, Spain and France the figures depend on no secondary outbreaks. If they move down in the same way as Germany and Austria when dropping off the second half the plateau, they will have tiny daily figures in two weeks time. In getting out of lockdown things may be only 10% back to normal week 1 and 30% in week 2 and 50% in week 3 and that depends keeping numbers tiny. The fact is Europe may well be getting back on its feet by the start of Q3 along with 85% plus from USA. UK should be starting out of lockdown in June.

China as we know is back to contact trace mode. Austria appears to have cracked it and should be out of lockdown. Switzerland and Germany are at very low levels by next week and I does look for them to loosen up. Two weeks away we have Ireland, France, Italy and Spain heading towards no new cases per day. Three weeks away we have Iran. On a Plateau and yet to decline are Portugal Netherlands, Brazil, Belgium, Turkey and UK. Russia may enter plateau phase tomorrow.

Tullow has 1408M shares. A lot of us on here can buy lots of shares quite easily if we could actually get them off the market maker on a quote. Sam has 186M of that 1408M and other institutions are holding at least 400M odd shares. Another 140M were loaned out. So unless a lot of holders sell stock the market maker has little shares to offer against quotes and so the share price goes up to attract a sell. As I said yesterday and others reported on Friday its easy to sell and harder to buy. When platinum bars hit $590 an ounce you could not get any (platinum higher today) the price means nothing if you can not acquire it.

This share will do fine.

The market maker relied on weak hands to supply shares. The bid will soon go up. The gap above needs to close. Tullow is not following Brent.
