Colour, you may have been right initially that GoI just wanted to bring lights to the masses, hence the 5m, but people have this irritating approach of wanting more especially once they have TV and wifi and IoT. They see the Rest of the World.
I do not think JC would have mentioned Silicon upgrade as already with them, remember 'White Label', only in reverse.
May be FG25 performs a different function to Omni. Silicon appears to be happy working with CC and thinks together they are going to make great inroads into India.

LTI and all.. A technical question, what it GoI BIS LITD28. What function does it provide. Is it a requirement for all India Smart Meters, who else can meet this requirement.

Morning all.. I think JC was timely in covering FG25 as it had been highlighted. We had been cooperating with Silicon over the years so the upgrade was just another step forward. If CC can now facilitate an IoT one-stop function at household level then it seems CC with this type of partnership will expand worldwide rapidly.

Morning LTI, I take your point but sometimes it pays to be on AIM, stamp duty for one. Over the years AIM has been mainly penny shares but of late a good company can burst into the big time. However, the FTSE250 does give the company stature.

I must admit I was more interested in the financial. If CC suddenly bursts out in India and the ROW money by loans etc is going to be needed not Share increases.
India's new set up will achieve a monthly income but for CC to say yes to all new contracts globally will probably need financing above Credit Guarantees.
Colour I know you say I get carried away but this is a unique situation where the world is waking up to energy control. CC has been keeping its prices down, others may have good systems but in volume the ultimate is price and speed.
In time my £4>£5 SP could be well exceeded possibly £10. That may be futuristic but energy is now a world concern.

Yes jake I think incorporating FG25 has probably opened up the field to Framework agreements. If Silicon is only a provider then CC is not competition, just part of CC supply chain. I think this is complimentary to Omni and although only ranges to 3m I feel allows CC to do more than meter reading, gaining speed and bandwidth.
Also possibly whilst L&G have their own Stack they may choose to use CC who are already accepted by India for Smart Comms, after all they are mainly interested in selling meters.
So Silicon feeling free to praise CC without L&G looking on.
As CC say their revenue is 1m units/$20m I should think a combination of FG25 and Omni would be the ultimate for large contract wins.

Now that FG25 has been mentioned I do not doubt JC will cover the subject quickly.
Upon visiting Silicon site I was surprised at the enthusiastic references that were made about CC. To me that was not opposition but a way into India with their product, and possibly L&G will use CC for their overall IoT concept, this would bring L&G heavily into India Smart Meters which must be their desire. Meters will be needed in volume.
I think Silicon referred to global CC implications so may be further tie ups.
Did Silicon take over SUN in past, I seem to remember using a SUN electronics meter on my car a few years back.
JC is wise to make use of an existing product, Connode brought Cyan to IPv6. Could open a whole new field.

We say this, time and time again Colour, you do have a negative outlook for a holder.
It may be that FG25 is the new Smart but I am inclined to think like jake that it could be a necessary gap filler to meet some buyer's requirements. From past memory CC design was for low data transfer, IoT may require more. CC has never said Omni no longer viable however to give you a slight ack there has been no mention of FG25. I am sure it will now get covered without you goading JC.

Is it Silicon fulfilling a particular gap, possibly in data speed for IoT, but generally not needed for meters at present.
It feels to me like Silicon is acknowledging that CyanConnode rules the Indian market for Smart Comms element.

Well Colour there we have it. Although I am older than yourself I do not seem to have the spare time that you have.
On a brief reading I picked up a long distance of 3m, that is what I was clarifying, another thing I picked up on was Silicons reference to an Indian Standard, which I have asked about in the past, is this a CC or Silicon Standard and was it issued by GoI.
On the other hand, is all that we are reading correct or is Silicon trying to butter up CC.

Colour I dont know about that. I agree we need an update (video) from JC. Are Silicon saying they are partnering with us in India, what is the long distance they can do in Metres, are they going to partner with CC outside of India.
Silicon has certainly said a lot about CC, upbeat and enthusiastic joint ventures, takeovers?

When HPI won these contracts did they have a listed smart comms provider on the tender. If I remember correctly CC were named on tender application list for INDORE and MYSORE. As the meters are tested to SLA requirements surely all components must be present to prove compatibility.

Colour, following the exhibition I am sure JC will want to update us shortly.
He could be being a little cautious after the last RNS problem to get the wording perfect.
With the majority of shares in safe hands I think the MM's are grabbing any chance to reduce SP after all Turn is their bread and butter.
The drops of late normally occur when millions of CC are sold.
I feel anybody who secures some now are in for a good ride.
