Apart from that the books look to be improving, just, SMETS2 is/will be rolling out and installed in coming months. The situation where perhaps up to 30% of sites are the equivalent of 'notspots' gives CC a great opening. I have heard of tower blocks where 'smart' has had to abandoned for 'no signal' so its not all open spaces like the Yorkshire Moors. If income can exceed costs in the next 6 months then the turn round will start. No mention of JST. This will be the rising of the Phoenix as long as nobody has a hosepipe. Sentiment has grabbed the SP again hopefully not for long.

Hello Colour and LTI. I think we are arguing about the unknown until the Half-Year/further comments. My view is that there will obviously be further contracts from abroad, size unknown, leasing returns which are known but not yet disclosed. Our mainstay will we be UK and whilst it had a delay will be underway in next few months. Should we get £35m. of which possibly £20m. will be up front at say £4m. a year plus leasings building then most costs should be covered. Earnings from elsewhere in world would be very important but we could build from the UK base. No proof just my thoughts.

I think JC will have to get Sylvian and other high ups more involved on video's. Not to the point of giving technical details away but to boost confidence in products. We know from JC that this advanced Omni is sought after so should be going down well in all areas, manufacturers, solutions, individual electronics companies. Perhaps early days since June but in the meantime a detailed account of earnings (or losses) from each country should be available. Just to know that returns are now coming in from leasings, which should then escalate as time passes. This would be a starting block of certainty, we know outgoings will probably still exceed income but with leasings from Connode onwards this should now be reducing from Oct onwards.

Well Colour re-viewing that video I think SS made a better job of it than Harry and at very short notice. He stayed on track, came over as genuine which he is and gave out confidence. He bit the bullet for the sake of CC costs but I am sure he will return and the sooner the better.

There you go again, no support for CC, but I forgot you are no longer a shareholder. We do not know exactly what situation is with Mysore just 3 phase had a hiccup. The manufacturing is the best in India for meters so if they are having trouble there is a fair chance everybody else is, CC software is only the comms so probably OK but we will find out. If India is going up against China it will want the best 'smart' so EESL cheap installations will soon be considered needy unless they can upgrade them and CC have that technology.

Colour, now that is clasping at straws. Things happen, EESL had delivery problems a few months back especially after non industry companies engaged. You didn't knock that. Patiently waiting for half year then we can all have some serious comments.

Hello Colour.. Logically at the outset JC took on more than he could chew but he was then into semi conductors. He probably would have stayed at Arqiva in hindsight, and then promoted their RF. We came onto the UK scene through Connode. The acquisition cost us but we would have gone to the wall, without being told why, if No IPv6. If you have no money in the kitty you either loan or increase shares. Admittedly each time he was making small headway the goalposts were changed but that happens in most new untested markets and slow Governments want the latest for the cheapest. Unlike selling mobile phones this market does not gain much by PR. In UK actions often do not speed up until a cockup comes to light which the government gurus cannot hide.
I think that CC is well placed in the SMETS2 situation, we are not involved with SMETS1, and concern over DCC (53m meters all in one basket) although slight could be advantageous to CC in the future. I would dearly like to know if CC is involved in all SMETS2 or just 'notspot' meters. The fact that JC explained that when mobile network failed CC RF then took over says yes in all, as I was previously told, but not quite certain. If we are, then we are in a position to activate all if DCC dropped for ANY reason.

Vas I must admit at one moment I think that I know a fair amount about SMETS then I think but do I. Your doc is a bit heady. We are waiting upon JC's half-yearly but I would also like a detailed account of our UK situation which I believe is the backbone of our finances. Possibly will not get it but I would like UK update in detail, prospects, current income, income for next 6 months and other negotiations JC's has going with DCC, BEIS, main government. At this late stage there is still uncertainty about SMETS2 start date but CC is mark out and can only be improved upon. As we are contracted to UK Southern project there is no need to hold back i.e. no secrets.
Multi the buys may be a blip but I have a feeling that there are moves afoot and we are coming to the endgame.
Hope Colour and ITT do not heap too much cold water on this little speech but they have probably had good reason in the past when we have sailed close to the wind.

I read an Ovo chat forum saying SMETS1 problems had been sorted and existing ones will not need to be replaced when SMETS2. I thought it was going to be more difficult. Any observations.

Hello ITT/Vas.. Did not think that I would combine those 2 names. The only indication I can give is JC's reference to income already coming in from UK, I think in his MAY 18 video, suggesting that there is some on the books now.

Thanks for that re-run Colour, watched it all. Picked up on a couple of items. If JC says for UK 10% will earn £25m then I would expect 30% to earn a bit more than £37m.
JC says hubs have 2 SIMS and when mobile goes down then mesh takes over. Wasn't that what I said at the beginning there being CC in all hubs otherwise how does it take over.
DCC (Capita) has 53m meters feeding into it and Government raised the question what if not available, Fire, flood, going bust, so although late in the day why did they choose to have it. In India it goes straight to utility from customer and with CC being interoperable the same could be done in UK.
Finally apart from remaining hardware needs our costs are kept low by our partners doing the manufacture.

Hello Colour.. I know that CC have generally reduced staff but I am not aware that Connode (Division) has totally gone, don't forget we have the maintenance and income of 800,000 Connode connections. .
As I see it the turning point, hopefully this year, will be leasing returns starting and being built upon.

True Colour, does seem a bit expensive. Possibly maintaining Connode abroad and the London R&D.
The problem is JC sold this leasing idea above straight forward sales (like TATA Mumbai) on the understanding, as with ARM and Intel, that returns would be arriving into the long and distant future. Well the early future has arrived and we should now be seeing, in detailed accounts, the start of this golden dawn. Lets face it a positive note such as this would shut everybody up. I also wonder if the £25/37m. SMETS is all to come and not part paid to Connode our predecessor.

Trouble is Jm, Colour was only gone for a week so it was just one his 'get me out of here' moments.
The problem I have with all this funding talk is I have always understood we do not need funding for Capital Expenditure other than staffing, R&D, Fetes and possibly guarantees, having been told that the software costs mere pennies.
If we were going in as stand alone contractors that would be a different situation.
In addition to payments up front, money should now be arriving from several directions for leasing returns including original Connode. It will be interesting to see how the half year figures display income.
If JST is so interested I would not be surprised to see him make a loan investment. A rich man comes all the way to Cambridge, he is not going to sit back now.
