With the smart meter problem now stabilising (SMETS2) and roll out beginning the related cost and Government subsidy of £11bn. should see the whole industry begin to rise and Centrica will be the main target.

Shell bought First Utility a short while ago. As oil/petrol has a question mark over it with EV I see strong possibility of the likes of BP searching the market.

Anybody have any background on this company.

Is there something afoot. Most of the buys are after hours. Is this the start of a take-over.
Definitely a strong buy just on anticipation. That is a large amount of after London hours trading, I was surprised.

Centrica have made some duff transactions over last couple of years but should still be worth 300p for their customer base.

H-hi.. That is just what I was thinking but thought it a bit hopeful. I do not know if it was BP but one of the oil companies recently bought a Utility. Question is what would they pay for Centrica.

A new CEO to lead Business Division could bode well.

Hello Overfiend.. I agree but I feel that this is exceptional. I think Colour would be the best person to put these questions at Presentation. Investors need to know current, immediate, situation financially. We are told all the expenditure so need to know balance sheet not wait until Y/E.
There must be contract/licencing money coming in, not netted off R&D books. This is the only way to stabilise SP as it is the money and prospects of it that counts. Failing we could bounce to 4p and JC would not be able condense shares again.
This is a crucial moment, I still feel there is a lot of money to come in soon (£7m level bonuses at risk) but we cannot run on an empty tank and will probably get taken out by somebody in the industry for next to nothing.

Re my 10:16. The last paragraph refers to Finland in 2017.

Well woolley as nothing has changed that dramatically and it's only words you could be right. SENTIMENT.

No matter what the feeling is why, when and how, 400,000 got bought up on the cheap today. May have been several buyers but may be just one or two. Todays RNS was virtually no change but for a long term player, dirt cheap.

Hello Jac, whats the update on the one platform. That item was 6/2016. JC said, in his panel speech that it had not been resolved in India and that the June18 CC update would solve it. That was directed at his fellow panelist.

Hello woolley.. I will give it 6 months and re assess, and in the meantime go with the highs and lows. Buying/selling is important but sentiment and forecasting SP is probably my reasoning at present.
I do not necessarily feel that CC has pushed its capabilities with SMETS2 but I think the requirement will come from the other direction especially as it would appear to me that the Government has nagging doubts regarding DCC. I wonder if any other country has got this monolithic central clearance station (a bit like Openreach). If UK is going to move forward with IoT etc I feel it needs Omni.

Hello BST.. Obviously it is easy to hit an open target. Cyan reached the all systems go situations several times in the past only to see the requirements change, IPv6 etc, JC has redirected his approach several times to meet technical and India Government needs. Unless he is absolutely lying his latest R&D venture which has cost CC, at a time of hardship, could be an inspired move. There is a need for this multi-platform which is now done and dusted and paid for. I have taken advantage of this dip and could probably now afford the whole company, LOL. I now see solid returns in the next 6 months especially from UK. With Mysore cleared that project should expand out with proven 'showcase' giving confidence to surrounding states. As I see it the Utilities that have taken up EESL, because it was initially free, will have second thoughts when they see good returns coming from Mysore and realise they could get rapid deployment of the latest technology. I will stay a bit longer and take advantage of any dips.

Thanks for the comments 2cv, you will get slated for that. I came onto the scene may be just a little bit early but averaged down, unusual for me, so slightly under break even. Looking at some of the other AIM companies, if I had thought no chance of this succeeding I would have ejected.
I am closely watching the SMETS2 situation, I feel that CC can make more of this than just grabbing a few more Not-Spots. If the new Omni (June18) is put into all SMETS2, and activated it would effectively be a multi-platform and in nearly all homes. However this would mean JC upgrading our contract with Toshiba to the New Software. I have made my feelings known Elsewhere so may get some action coming down the tree.
I cannot see any further capitalisation being excessive as R&D for this round is almost finished, most of our licencing is for software so no production costs, if we balance the books this year then we will build. As CC is a small company there should be no immediate great expectations but like an annuity will slowly build quicker and quicker.
Greengrass this probably is really the bottom and only dipped by sentimental panic.
