IAG will return profits much quicker, I’ve been building up a position for the past few weeks. American airlines finished up over 10% and Delta airlines post results tomorrow. Airlines move much quicker in an uptrend.

IAG doing ok. Each of the airlines has days where they out perform the others on the stock markets. It’s not a race to the top. DELTA AIRLINES post results tomorrow in the US. It’s a marathon of sorts not a race between airlines ebbs and flows in share prices.

It’s not just the headline figure, they’ll break that figure down to see what it’s made up of and how that might influence central bank decisions with regards to inflation. Give markets time to digest the figures before you’ll see the direction in the futures trading. Headline figure does meet expectations at 6.5

December 2022 CPI data are scheduled to be released on January 12, 2023, at 8:30 A.M. Eastern Time.

It’s the American CPI data. Speculation on what’s released today is what fuelling the current rally this week. There’s a lot of information to be seen in the breakdown but they’re expecting around 6.5 down from 7.1. Market may sell off if it’s above expectations. You’ll see it reflect in the markets one way or the other once it’s released later this afternoon.

Yes I read the RNS yesterday morning, left it alone after. Dirty trick to play on those that bought. It was held up on my trading platform until it settled at its lower price. Nobody could buy or sell. The day before was time to sell the news for those that held it.

Thanks, been doing some reading here on online else where. Will see what the position is tomorrow when markets open up. What with China opening up traders may well be occupied else were tomorrow but we’ll see. Will see what futures have in store for the markets tomorrow. Have a few trades to keep up with tomorrow depending how those futures line up.

There’s two sides to every story wouldn’t you say? For every action there’s a reaction or so the theory goes. Flip a coin heads or tails. Would the world work if we all had the same opinions, just a thought. Debate is useful if used in a constructive way. Some people need to read the definition of trader and long term holder as eventually even the later sells so trades to take profits. A shorter is much different to the two above so people need to read up the definition of how all three are different but make the market wheels turn. There’s a specific way to short a stock, buying low selling high is not shorting, it’s trading. Most people don’t understand what taking up a short position involves so need to read that up. Calling out a trader as a shorter is BS wouldn’t you say?

We’re now in results season for next few months with most not expected to be great so there’ll be ups and downs with volatility on different days. Inflation data lands most days across world markets along side these that further impacts volatility. I think delta airlines release results next week that could impact travel stock depending on what can be seen from them 13TH.

With all due respect Tesla is not a good example. All growth stocks outperformed during the pandemic due to low interest rates and central banks adding liquidity into the markets. Tesla did better because the branding had a perception of being quality much like apple so played it’s part pulling in more investors. Good marketing and branding helps. Current growth stocks have gone the other way and some around or below pre-pandemic levels. Central banks interest rate rise cycle is depressing that area and liquidity is being taken out. No coincidence value stocks are leading on financial markets at present. Once central banks complete their interest rate rise cycle and ease back money will poor back into those stocks to take advantage of the rise on the next cycle. Timing the bottom on tech stocks and when central banks ease back will make you gains. Big problem at the moment is that markets keep going on rallies which make things difficult for central banks tackling inflation as the money made has to go somewhere so the cycle continues and inflation comes down slower. When China opens up fully oil price is expect to be between 100-110$ on demand that creates on global oil markets. Growth stocks haven’t gone away, heard is awaiting its time to move back in once the central banks finish current cycle. Volatility on those stock is crazy on on signs that central banks may turn like we seen on Friday in America.

You’re correct in your analysis but need to see indications of a return of dividends and maybe buybacks before it takes off to much higher levels. Until that happens it will hold it up. Most of us investors have left big money in shares sitting in shares that provide both of those. Rolls Royce day will definitely come if you leave your money here but the current volatility in this share also makes it an ideal one to trade in/out as well in the meantime. Once I think Rolls Royce return dividends I leave money in myself but not at the moment.

Just so we’re clear I’m a trader on shares that don’t currently provide dividends or buybacks. Be gone troll or I’ll filter you.

Why do you think some companies are shedding jobs. Do you think they already know what’s coming this year so trying to make those figures look more presentable when they get released in the next few months.

Not until the current interest rate cycle completes and it gets through its next set of what are expected to be lower company results in first and second quarter in tech shares.
