I agree. But would have been bought back up much like Boeing, Raytheon and GE was as there’s definitely some game playing taking place on the stock market at the moment.

The FT may have struggled to get it in for Thursdays edition so waited to get it in on Fridays headline page. You can guarantee those in the know new the front page headline was coming today BUT didn’t tell minvest, poor chap.

We’re in a social media age so even keeping things said in private is cagey these days. BUT conveying such comments even to a large workforce was never going to stay private. Choosing words and quotes without thought is crucial incase they get out. He’s killed sentiment in one speech for know. I’m flabbergasted that he didn’t choose his words more wisely. Everyone knows the company has issues but he’s virtually aired them to the public via his work force. Needs to stay above 108p today unles people have adjusted stop loses.

That’s debatable as his assessment does back up a lot of what jp Morgan said. Very strange speech for a CEO to make in public. Very strange !

I’m at a loss why he used those words and quotes the more I read it on the FT. Look worse than what I was told yesterday in that FT article. Luckily I sold yesterday but worse than I expected today. Even someone considering a take over bid would sit tight on his comments as they might get it cheaper if they wait based on the CEO assessment. Very strange unless the FT have took his comments out of context of what he actually said and conveyed it. RR might need to say something on the FT article. There’s a stack of stop loses under 108p. Belated Xmas present to MM’s this one.

Might go a bit lower if it takes out lower stop loses this afternoon. Reading through what he said his choice of words and quotes will likely cost around 5% today. Easy for MM’s to run this down on the FT article this morning.

Won’t go below a £1 or near in my opinion. Once today is over the FT storey is old news. Markets remain in an uptrend so unless that changes I can’t see any big movements coming anytime soon. If I was being overly critical the CEO just learnt how comments he makes can be used by a financial paper looking for a front page storey using a well known company name to make headlines.

As long as the stock market don’t lose confidence in the new CEO to tackle inherent problems and lays down achievable plans to tackle them they’ll invest. He’ll do what he’s been brought in to do which is obvious in his work history and the soundings he’s already put out there in public. Early days in his tenure so give they guy time. GL

The stock markets would have known Wednesday what happened at that meeting, Rolls Royce isn’t an organisation like the CIA. I new Thursday morning and don’t work for Rolls Royce. The FT reported what the markets already new. You could argue the FT couldn’t get it for Thursday BUT knowledge you were going to print front page Friday was useful to those in the know.

Yes trades on FOMO like all shares do BUT creating the storey shakes out weak hands. Get ready for any trick in the book while markets remain in an uptrend. Any drops recently over in the US have been quickly bought up even after results that weren’t great. Was it a coincidence the FT put this old storey out on a Friday after a strong week when people take some profits going into the next week?

Sophie, give the guy a chance as he’s only been in a few weeks. Yes it will take time for a new CEO to turn things around with inherent issues. Rolls Royce is a marathon not a sprint as I’ve said before. Unless the stock markets lose confidence in the new CEO it’ll be a slow rise with some falls along the way.

The FT put that article front page today, try asking yourself why? I new what was said yesterday and RR employees sooner so why did it take till Friday for the FT to do a front page spread on effectively old news.

The new CEO was brought in with a “remit and specific task.” Looking at his history tells you why they’ve brought him in. Confidence for him to carry out what he’s been asked to do is key for stock markets in the longer term. If he does what he’s done elsewhere at Rolls Royce I think the company will be in a much better position than it’s been in a long while, even before covid.

Did anyone actually take time to see why Deutsche bank raised the broker forecast yesterday? Supply chain issues are forecast to weigh heavily on Airbus and Boeing deliveries this year. Rolls Royce will benefit from these problems because Airlines will need to maintenance their existing fleets to meet higher customer demand in 2023 so Rolls Royce are well placed to benefit in this area with their service contracts.

Nothing new when a new CEO comes in. Present the problems as bigger than they actually are in the areas you were brought in to turn around. The new CEO was brought in for a “specific reason” and task so presenting inherent problems makes it easier to implement his plans and direction going forwards. In some ways the stock markets aren’t just investing in the company but also confidence in the new CEO to do the job he’s been employed to do. The stock markets aren’t stupid as they’ll know the inherent problems at Rolls Royce in this area, what you have to see is wether they think the new CEO is the right guy to deal with problems going forwards. Confidence is key when investing in a company.

TUI dropped 6p but was bought up straight away. I’ll bet they took out a few stop loses on a quick drop. Crafty sods.
