I think the Dow tends to weed out week hands lately before results falls get bought up.

Markets reacted negatively to both airline results today, American Airlines and wiz air. Shares have tend to go back up after bad results in days that follow as still an upward trend. Broker update was more useful in days that will follow, it’s a marathon sometimes not a race. It’s still up today so not that bad.

A 5% day would be good with stock futures up after a lull in past few days. Trend and momentum remains upwards tho at this moment in time. It could reach 200p sooner than people expect with results still to come. GL

Boeing results out and showing down pre-market.

Those holding IAG rubbing their hands today. If IAG put out similar to the markets then SP looking at a good rise on the day. Unless something impacts demand and sentiment I’d not be surprised to see them back around 200p by Easter. Pax numbers and sentiment across the sector feeds into RR as various airlines do use RR engines. Demand is sector driven not engine driven.

If there’s low pax numbers and poor sentiment in the airlines results it would reflect in civil aviation business numbers regardless of the which engine is attached to the aeroplane. A recovery needs to see higher pax numbers (demand) that impacts sentiment to invest in a further recovery. Airline results impact any business that works in the civil aerospace across the sector.

The same reality is gauged when the likes of GE, Raytheon posted yesterday and Boeing today. The markets gain valuable information in each of those results that can correlate to what RR will experience in similar parts of this their business. IAG benefited today from easy jet news as an example. Competitor and sector results have a bearing on the stock markets during a recovery in a particular sector.

It’s about sentiment that airlines are returning to profit and pax number markets look for not which engine they use. Those same numbers impact the reality other airlines will experience who do use RR engines. Sentiment and demand is gauged from airlines posting results.

American Airlines and Wizz Air post results tomorrow so could be some decent numbers and forecasts. Ryan Air post results on the 30TH so can back up numbers made by their COE.

I have a portfolio of shares both long and to trade so don’t post that often. As previously posted I don’t hold onto those without dividends. So warren buffet type investors are gamblers too are they? Let’s be clear are you saying anyone who buys then sells at their target sell price is a gambler under your perceived formulae

I’ve traded RR about 10 times since 92p so it’s proved more profitable than holding. Do you think the warren buffets of this world don’t trade on the stock markets too. Your very inept of how stock markets play out aren’t you.

If Boeing post good results today watch what happens to RR amateur as it may well touch red inky 115p today. How inept do you want to make yourself bully boy.
