Never wrong to take a profit if you want it. I held these at £20 a pop and got greedy hoping for more then it imploded. Still live price 1042, it's so annoying almost everyday the price stream gives up the ghost here so use google finance.

div is approx 21.6p at fx 1.20 usd/gbp.

Forgot it was ex div today.

I jumped in here too early and added at 250 to my already considerable holding. Could of had 150 but hey ho.

Bought a few back at 163 after a change of heart just before it crashed below 140 ! Can't win. Whatever i do it will do teh complete opposite so for now i'm doing nothing.

I'm not touching anything at the moment with a barge pole. It really feels like the end of the world is happening right before our eyes. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think PRU would be where it is. I first bought in 2015 for about £16 and downhill ever since pretty much. Insurance companies don’t do well in bear markets. These companies hold all sorts of investments which are also taking a panning. I hold PRU as well, thank god I got rid of MNG at 220p.

It’s hard for it to rise when there is so much selling pressure in the whole market. These drops on the indexes have been brutal.

Hard to be exact but I've owned these when it starts with a 4 so I see no reason it won't revisit those levels if the malaise persists. First quarter is likely to appalling so with that in mind yesterday I offloaded a load of these at 552p. so far so good. Small holding kept for now.

I certainly wouldn’t put the whole lot into shell. I like the idea of income shares over an annuity but would split between at least 5-6 good quality shares in different sectors and investment trusts with international growth shares.

Not me, I held shell all through the great oil price collapse of 2014-15 when they bought BG. If history repeats itself then this could go 4-5 quid lower from here, not that I want it to of course.

Yes good points pokerchips. I believe shell no longer issues scrips instead of cash if i recall correctly, so that kind of fixes that. I would prefer buyback money to be spent on innovation or technology to future proof earnings more effectively. These are challenging times for the oil and gas industry. I remember imperial brands buying back shares at well over 30 quid a time look at the share price now! Different business i know but highlights the dangers of declining fortunes.
