Gold and silver prices are are sharply up, with gold hitting a four-week high and trading back above $1,700.00 in late-morning U.S. trading Tuesday. Silver hit a more-then-four-month high today. The precious metals are benefitting from heavy short covering in the futures markets, perceived bargain hunting in the cash markets, and even some safe-haven demand as the crypto currency markets are selling off. December gold was last up $34.00 at $1,714.40 and December silver was up $0.601 at $21.53.

Rumors are swirling in the crypto markets regarding one exchange halting withdrawals, and that has apparently spooked all the crypto markets and has helped to boost safe-haven gold and silver....

"The open pit of Telfer has a sunset unless we commit to another cutback or two, which I’ve talked about in the past particularly at higher prices, because it’s lower grade.

So, I mean, in an ideal world, right? And this is an ideal world, okay? This is all subject to further exploration success and what have you. Ideally, you’d want the high grade ore from the top of the Crescent zone coming in early with some form of stopping or sub-level cave type top-down mining process.

And then over time as subject to drilling, if the Breccia material proves to be mineralized and some exciting intercept which we’re seeing, in a broader sense, that would open up the possibility of down the track, a bulk style mining operation, which would be able to much better utilize the whole milling -- a lot of the milling capacity at Telfer that sort of top-down mining method like an SLC or just I’ve been stopping would not feel. So high grade coming first with the potential of a larger operation, and by then the Telfer open pit would probably been exhausted by then, and then it’d be on Havieron."

Greatland Gold....

Yup, gold up nearly 3%. Let's be honest, would it not be great to see the wide boys GGP shorts squeezed!

Well, let's see, I may be well ahead of the game, but, apparently, the demand for bicycle clips has suddenly increased at Halfords!

GLA!

Maybe! However, GGP doesn't follow the usual market trends, which has always lead me to believe, and, TBH, even more, recently, that it's being manipulated, and, whatever anyone else says, that's pretty much cast in stone for me!

However, our time will come, and it's not too far away now, IMHO!

As are most people, I'm sure, I'm also looking forward to an increase in drill assay results outside of Havieron, which, as I've said many times, I know, pretty much looks after itself, and in the positive! Also, but even more, as Shaun Day agrees, in our 100% owned tenements, especially Scally. However, to be honest, I'm personally not going to get overexcited about anything, as many of us remember all the hype, and it was hype, over the pending Scally results in the past drilling campaign. It's mining. It takes time. Assays are not always great, but it's great when they are, but all of them are, nevertheless, hugely important, one way or another, for the geologists to further pinpoint the sweet spots!

On Monday, Berenberg Bank reiterated it's 'BUY' rating for GGP, with an unchanged 18p target price.
