I see that Newcrest Mining are looking for a Security Officer for Havieron.

The job role includes, "Manage vehicles and equipment coming to and from site, including relevant searches where required."

Not surprising really with all the high grade gold ore that'll be coming out very soon now!

I agree! Well structured and balanced, IMHO.

I certainly agree with at least 10p, but possibly a bit more, 10-12p leading up to the Feasibility Study.

I also believe that If/when we get a more accurate idea as to when the Feasibility Study will actually be published, then that will be a major catalyst for that move. Thereafter, who knows? DYOR

Greatland Gold PLC said it is in a “strong financial position as its moves towards production and cashflow” from the Havieron mine, with £59.8mln cash and £43.5mln of debt at its 31 December 2022 half-year point.

During the half-year, the company made progress on its feasibility study for the gold-copper deposit in the Paterson region of Western Australia, where an updated mineral resource calculated a total of 5.5 mln oz of gold and 222,000 tonnes of copper.

Development underground also continued, with over 1,800 metres (m) advanced as of March, compared to 1,519m on 18 January 2022.

Greatland said it spent £12.2mln on the development of Havieron and £2.7mln on exploration in the period.

It retained a 30% ownership of the Havieron joint venture after concluding a 5% option process.

Gross funds of £63.3mln were raised from equity issues, including £33.5mln from Wyloo Metals, and it signed a debt commitment letter for A$220mln (£130mln) with a group of banks to support Havieron’s development.

The company recorded an operating loss of £3.5mln before share-based payments compared to £2.9mln a year ago, with a £13.3mln loss before tax compared to £3.6mln a year earlier.

One of the world’s biggest and most influential mining conferences will be kicking off over the weekend in Toronto, with producers and explorers the world cover checking into Canada to sell themselves to local and international investors.

The interactions between the top brass of Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) and Newmont will be closely watched after the Australian gold giant rejected an all paper $24.5 billion offer from the US gold giant to take it out.

Investors have thrown support behind the NCM board at the previous offer price, but it has opened its doors to Newmont to see if the 6Mozpa Denver-based gold behemoth can return with a better deal.

That takeover, if successful, would be the largest in gold mining history and could take the shackles off an arms race for scale that has gone cold since Newmont and no. 2 global gold miner Barrick buried the hatchet and came to a JV over their Nevada gold mines to kill a hostile takeover bid from the Canadian marauders.

The previous largest deal in gold history was the Newmont buyout of Canadian Goldcorp in 2019.

And its former founder Rob McEwen, now the head of McEwen Mining, said more deals were likely in the current environment.

Tomorrow will mark 12 months since the Greatland Gold Havieron Mineral Resource Update dated 3rd March 2022!

The figures were based on a drilling cut-off date of 2nd December 2021...15 months ago! Yes, 15 months ago!!

The 3rd March 2022 update showed:

A 53% increase in total gold content to 5.5M oz Au (6.5M oz AuEq1)
A 63% increase in Indicated Mineral Resource gold ounces to 3.1M oz Au
An exceptional 86% rate of conversion of Mineral Resources to Ore Reserves

In 15 months of drilling we've surely come a long, long way, ahead of these now!

Why would Shaun Day bring Wyloo onboard if he thought that they'd 'grab' Greatland Gold?

I'm all for some conspiracy theories, but, I still hope that Mr Day is working in the best interests of the GGP shareholders, and, I'm 100% sure that he is!

As I said, let's just hope that this thread is not, as is often the case nowadays, hijacked by the usual handbag brigade!

"In this case (Havieron), early decision...world class ore...let'd cut through, get that decline in, get down to the ore body, so really, the gap between Feasibility Study and First Ore is going to be indecently short...Free cash flow!"

That's the answer!

Also, take that with the latest comments from analysts, namely:

And, you can be pretty clear what this is all about, and where we're going!

IF something comes into reality I'll assess everything and make my mind up at the time based on actual numbers and facts and my own personal targets and timeframe for my investment here. We can all vote as we see fit using the voting power we paid for after all :-)"

I agree, and, TBH, I don't think that anyone has here, yet, chosen any particular option as a shareholder.

Absolutely nothing will be clear, unless & until, all relevant FACTS are put on the table.

That said, I really like this thread, as it's shown so far, has been one of the best, with a fair & balanced set of individual views to date, but especially with this latest media piece, which, was already pretty clear, for weeks before nayway, IMHO.

IMHO, the route to Telfer/Havieron will be via Greatland Gold, as a conduit to purchasing them. That will be enabled, one way, or another through Wyloo/Forrest money, as I've said before. I don't see Greatland Gold just selling their Havieron stake to Wyloo/Forrest myself.

Simply because it would raise the NCM value through the sale of assets, as pointed out by analysts a few weeks ago:

"Barrick Gold (ABX.TO) has ruled out a counterbid for number-one Australian gold producer Newcrest Mining (NCM.AX), its chief executive told Bloomberg, eliminating what had seemed to be the most likely prospect of a rival to bidder Newmont (NEM.N).

But another alternative for Newcrest would be lifting its value through sale of assets, analysts said...

Newcrest should better articulate the value of its long-life growth projects and maybe adjust its portfolio, he said.

That could include selling the relatively modest Havieron gold mine in Australia and the nearby Telfer mine and processing plant, which is operating well below capacity....

Other analysts said the most obvious potential buyer for Havieron was its minority shareholder Greatland Gold (GGPL.L), which plans to list on the Australian Securities Exchange this year.

"Everything is a could be"...Sure, but in terms of, say, going from a straight guess, to a 'guesstimate', to an estimate, IMHO we're well past the 'guesstimate' stage.

As I've said before, I believe it will happen, one way, or another, either a sale by Newcrest, or by Newmont, should there be a takeover. We have the team in place, and the connections through them, as well as Wyloo/Forrest.

I may well be wrong, but I think it only shows up as a location category if there are current jobs available, and a lot of them closed out for applications on the 28th February, if I remember rightly.
