@Stupmy. Yes, purely speculative on my part, placed it on a “just in case” basis with no particular science.

@Stupmy. Funny you should mention 490, I wonder if anyone has a limit order there? (Hint, hint!).

Until relatively recently Loganair operated it (3 or 4 times a day Monday to Friday) but they ceased not long after EZJ started. Used the route a number of times on business a long time ago, nice little Embraers. Logan still serve Edinburgh, I do wonder if EZJ should dip their toes in the water there as well.

I look forward to your update. I know I bang on about Southampton to Glasgow but that gets sold out on occasion. Minimum fare today is £139, tomorrow £170.

An interesting comment was made about 07:10 on Radio 4 today along the lines of “usually you see an unwinding of air fares in January, that hasn’t happened”. Seems fares are holding up well then!

Missed opportunities are not losses of course. I missed out on IAG when I first got into EZJ. IAG were circa 100 then but I didn’t want to put too much into one sector. I’ve missed out of course but lost nothing. I’m LTH in EZJ and currently don’t trade; but I’m thinking about dabbling a bit but keeping it totally separate (and on a much smaller scale). Each to their own. As Boris once said “if the ball comes loose in the scrum…”.

Prime. Sorry to hear you’ve not been well, hope it’s wasn’t a bad batch of potatoes!

If it goes sub 500 I’m ready for another small top up (did me well a few weeks ago, two small top ups averaging 488). Gradually building here for the medium to long term, keeping some good headroom. Made a few mistakes quite some while ago (FOMO) but learning to protect my core and be more measured. I still think we’ll see 650 plus this year but who knows?!!!

@Prime. Here’s a random Saturday morning thought on it flying. We know Q2 doesn’t have Easter in it this year and this will suppress Q2 figures. But this is before the key summer period kicks in. In fact if you take Friday 2nd and 16th off plus Monday 19th you get seven consecutive 4 day weeks. Great opportunities for get aways before the summer!

I agree, it’s all about timing and what your personal objective is. Having looked at shares over many years and not had the courage of my convictions I finally ventured into shares in late September 2023. At the time my savings were being eroded by very high inflation and I thought that if I could at least protect a portion of them it would be good. My benchmark at the time was to at least maintain value in real terms and hopefully do better. When EZJ went sub 300 I jumped in and my best price was 277.35 (3/10/23). Added since and am now averaging 368. My holding is small compared with others here (just under 3,200) but I also have a small amount in Wizz (average 1406). Sitting on a small paper loss on Whitbread but overall I’m circa 40% up. So my objective has been achieved/exceeded. I did subsequently get a 2 year ISA at 5.5% so have spread my funds. It’s all about timing and personal objective. Will I get into trading? I may venture a small amount to see how I get on but not at the expense of my main holdings. If I do my starting point will be “I’m prepared to lose £xxx” but obviously hope to do better.

I know in the wider scheme of things it is only a pin prick but I monitor pricing on one of my local regional routes, Southampton to Glasgow to see how it is doing (only introduced just over two years ago.

The minimum fares for the next 5 days are

Not bad for a route that didn’t exist for EZJ until relatively recently; and in February too!

Earning money like this in the lean period can only be good; better than having assets sitting idle! Come on EZJ, there must be more regional routes to develop!

@Golf. Nothing has been said about it and I doubt it will happen. Only been here just over two years so not sure if they ever did interim or special dividends pre-COVID.
