Smithy, how long have you been invested here? "90+ around the corner" will make little difference to the SP. I thought this was a great investment last March and I bought more then and again in June. I have since dumped one third of my holding and am thinking of selling half the remainder next month. There maybe 90 plus around the corner but Greta is standing in the middle of the alley with her blah.

CapitalistPig. Agreed. And that 6.4% return is over a four month period! Annualised, that's and incredible return. The only caveat is whether the price is still at the £15 mark at the end of that 4 months; we shall see! Logic dictates that that rate of return should see a lot of buying leading into this period, leading to a rise in the share price significantly above the current level and falling back after the ex div dates. But then that contains the assumption that markets behave rationally. IMO.

I was wondering what news websites you all use for business news in relation to markets, commodity prices etc. Personally I use CNBC a lot and Yahoo finance where I have a personalised watchlist of shares that I find very useful. I thought it would be interesting to share info on websites that we each find useful. First thing in the morning I check CNBC for commodity prices, FX rates, Asian markets etc. However I may be missing out on something that others find useful?

Smithy. Unlike others I find your posts genuinely amusing. I am a 'Boomer' with my 'nose in the trough' and I suck the blood of the company's dividends with relish. And I want more. Share ownership is a privilege of the elite and you share that privilege with me whether you are generation Z or whatever.. Buying, selling and holding shares is a fundamentally selfish act. If you disagree then you are an altruist. You are not here to make a profit? If not then you had better throw your hard-earned money elsewhere. I sold one third of my investment in BP out of frustration not too long ago and used it to buy another share that I subsequently cashed in at a 20% profit. Yes it was plain simple greed so I can make money to give to my kids. Are you different Smithy? Entertain us further please with you ageist rants!

This Friday competition is pointless. There is no prize. The result is that some anonymous person with an avatar like SqueakyJean or something gets their ego boosted for picking a number out of a hat. Well done SqueakyJean; oh what does it mean?! MarkGo. Yes. Looney will have to spin the Green narrative big time on Tuesday. EUA? I've been in for a coupla years since the 5p days and made a lot of money and invested elsewhere. I've doubled down now since last RNS which indicates to me that a sale is very close. I will still hold BP going into Q4 results but if the market does not respond positively I'll be out. I do see the sense in the correlation of the SP with the dividend yield and you know, I think this might be wrong time to increase dividend or even to announce a special.

What a time to be releasing results - just as Greta is working herself up for another "blah blah blah" speech. Publishing Q3 profits will be like turning up at an AA meeting with a bottle of gin. They'll drink it but they'll never forgive you.

Twenty-Four. I did a double take when I looked at those closely-timed buy trades for 125k and 150k from Friday morning. To me, it indicates someone building a substantial purchase without rocking the boat.

Re the various interpretations of the last RNS, I've read both side. The sentence that stands out for me is: "Until a transaction is finally concluded there can be no certainty that a transaction will occur or on what terms." To me this sounds like a message to the potential buyer that just because they have completed DD does not mean they are going to be successful in their bid; in fact other bids are being considered. There will be now acceptance of a low-ball offer. My reading is that we are very near the end of the sale process. But that's just my reading of it.

I have a rule that I never invest more than £5k in any AIM share however I have doubled my stake following the last RNS. I'm not suggesting that others do likewise. Shares are always risky, especially on AIM. All in my humble opinion.

Sick of this. If oil was 100, we might still look at the same price. After what happened with Shell today, can't see upside for a while. Still holding though. Bought EUA with proceeds of BP sale. We'll see.

I've held since the 5p days and sold a lot on the way up to the 35p mark and made a lot (for me) of money which saved my portfolio from the CoviD Crash; I invested it in MSFT and AMZN, AAPL, BP. I've been holding about 15k EUA shares since that time. I bought another 16k today as I have observed the fluctuations and believe they will continue to rise from here. My read on today's RNS is that management do not like to see the share trading below the last placement at 26p (?). Just my humble opinion.

annalisa your comments are fair. It would be amazing if we hit £5 anytime soon. In fact RDSB fell today before tomorrow's expected bumper results. It's like the market is saying " your results tomorrow will be amazing, but just not amazing enough". I don't see BP on 2nd Nov posting results good enough to raise the share price - UNLESS they address the dividend. If there is any move upwards in the next coupla days I will sell one third and buy back into Evraz. That's my honest strategy. BP and RDSB could surprise us. There is no rationale that can predict that. I especially avoid chartist predictions.

CapitalistPig, I think it has settled in a range of 1500 to 1600 and I'm comfortable in that range to collect the two bigger divs. I'm not a trader ; I'm stuck with broker with high enough fees. Of course the next results could change y mind!

If I were in your shoes, I would hold. I lost money a coupla years ago on IMB. Now my bought price is 15.80 maybe a year ago. It's holding steady and trading in a range 15.50 -1600. In this range I am collecting dividends. My bet is that it won't drop below 15.00 based on earnings. So I am happy to hold. This is a dividend stock and probably won't hit 20.00 mark anytime soon. BUT I am encouraged by the more recent SP stability over 1Y as opposed to the dramatic fall over the last couple of years.

adv11, this topic will never go away as long as new shareholders join the message board and find that they've been taxed / over-taxed on their dividend!

Shell results on Thursday could be a big deciding factor here!
